Where does the time go? Part 2

Seriously here... what happened? Where did all my babies go? Okay... one's on my lap right now. :) But really?! I always joke about putting bricks on the boys heads to keep them small forever. If only that really worked. I love having little men running around... hanging on mommy... asking me to lay with them at night... climbing in my lap... asking me to carry them when they're tired. It all just went by to fast... all I really did was blink a few times... I swear!!
Vance LOVES school... he didn't even cry on the first day... I had a few tears but no one knew. :) He was humming and singing and looking all around. He's only 16 months younger than Grayson but he seems so much younger to me... I know he's going to change and grow so much this year in kindergarten... I know it will be good for him.

Where does the time go?

My baby... I mean BIG kid... started 1st grade. I remember when Grayson was a baby sitting with Paul in our small apartment talking about what it would be like to have a 6 year old... it seemed SO FAR AWAY. So far away we couldn't even fathom... but we did it... we blinked and it's here... and my sweet son is in school all day. It's so bittersweet... I'm so happy for him yet sad at the same time. For now he's happy and seems to be enjoying school... but I'm still not closed on the idea of homeschooling next year. We'll just have to wait and see.
It was raining on the first day so we couldn't walk... but all was well anyway. :)

Here's Grayson walking in with his best friend Alec... they aren't in the same class this year but they get to enjoy recess together.

Bittersweet....
I can hardly wait for Fall to be here... it's such a wonderful time of year... my favorite by far. I love
the smell of fall, the warm (not scorching) sun, the brisk evenings... I love opening up all the windows and feeling the breeze through the house, even when it's slightly chilled. There is something so cozy about fall.... but that means leaving summer behind. Normally I wouldn't even flinch but it's different this year. I never used to pay attention to all the hustle of 'school time' but I have to now that I have 2 in school. It's so odd to think I'm a 'school' mom now. I'm so used to just being a mom to babies and toddlers... now I'm a mom to both.
This week has been especially hard... we have been so blessed the last 8 weeks. We had two wonderful family trips and the best part of all was having Dad home for 7 weeks. It truly was a gift from God... something we never would have imagined. It was so good for all of us... we didn't get any big projects done but we did so many little things I can't even list them all. Dad went back to work and my brother Nick left for Air Force boot camp on Tuesday. Grayson started 1st grade on Wednesday *sniff* and Vance started Kindergarten on Friday *sniff.sniff*. It was such a whirlwind week I haven't had a chance to let it all soak in but it will this week I'm sure. I'll still have Gavin, Ozzie & Buddy but it's just not the same. I'm going to miss them all so much during the day. I know some of you think I'm crazy... I know so many moms who are thrilled to have their kids back in school and would go bonkers if their husbands were home all the time... but not me. I love having them all around... I do have to say I'm going to miss Paul a little bit more than the boys. *grin* But I'm not ready to accept that they'll be gone during the day for the rest of their childhood. That's a whole other issue... ha!
So anyway... as the dust settles around here and the afternoons quiet maybe I'll get caught up on the blog finally... and get a few house projects done.
I had to throw in a picture of Grayson and Buddy... what's a post without a photo!?!

My boy is growing up...

Where the heck has the time gone... I feel like it was just yesterday I was taking him to preschool for the first time. And those of you who said it would be easier taking the 2nd, 3rd, 4th and so on. It's not... it was just as hard at taking Grayson last year. I keep joking i'm going to put bricks on their heads... I don't want them to grow up so fast.

At the Artshow

Yesterday was the Spring Concert and Art show at the Church for the preschool classes. Grayson wouldn't go up and sing but he took us down to his class room and showed us all of his art. It was so packed you could barely see anything... We had to wait until it emptied out to take some pictures. Vance and Gavin both fell asleep during the concert... He milked that for a while and got a long ride around the church.
