holes, laughs, being loud and babies

we spend a lot of time together
and we wear holes in our socks {a lot}

we pile on the couch
and laugh a lot

we hang our art on the wall
and play loud

we pile our coffee table with books and water glasses
and someone is still growing out their cut bangs

We babywear babies that aren't really babies anymore
and love our crazy life

...it was late evening in our dimly lit great room, hence the high iso...

they're BIG

...combines that is

they look BIG in the yard

the header looks really big up close

they feel big when they drive by
{especially with the auger out}

they look big next to semi-trucks

they sound big emptying beans

big machines for a big job

{and I'm really happy I had a big enough camera lens to capture it!}

daddy caught a froggie

for his curly girlies to see

and it made them giggly

{ps. I made that rhyme all on my own... grin}

the end

the time has come for this trip to end...

with some disappointing news and exciting news we rushed for home

we drove 5,700 miles in 5 weeks

sometimes all day, sometimes for just a few hours and sometimes through the night

we saw familiar faces and new places...

we made beautiful memories
and have forever fallen in love with living, working & dreaming on the road

but for the next few months we are back in North Dakota...

on the farm we call home

out in the middle of nowhere

where our garden grows and you can see the milky way everynight.

although I already miss being on the road...

it's good to be home.

just a regular day

We had a beautiful fathers day yesterday. We worked in the garden, the lawn and the fields. It was warm and slightly breezy with a big blue sky just like big sky country is known for.

I was going to make a chocolate applesauce cake until I realized that we didn't have any apples... so I used bananas instead.
and it was delicious... this morning.

My awesome husband spent most of fathers day working. He made a wonderful breakfast of almond banana pancakes, fixed the big mower tractor, mowed the huge lawn and then went out to the fields. Missing out on his fathers day dinner and cake. There is no shortage of work to do on a farm... only time and good weather to do it all.

As the boys cleaned up the kitchen after dinner... cleaning around the warm black cake sitting on the counter. They knew dad was still out in the field and the cake was going to have to wait. Being the go against the flow mom that I am...
I told everyone we could have cake for breakfast.
They didn't even act surprised...
although there were a few hugs and "you're the best mom ever"

At 9am this we all gathered around the table and ate chocolate applesauce banana cake with ice cream and celebrated an amazing man, husband and father we are so blessed to call ours.

rewind

sometimes
I wish
you could
just
hit

the rewind

and go

back

to those

little

moments

in time
and

savor
the blessings
and smiles

little voices

and sweet smells

adorable giggles
and baby talk
just
one

more

time

to soak
up their love

and watch

them

grow

right

before

your eyes

once again

if only...
