Totally unrelated to your post, But I have three boys and just found out we're having twins... I've been reading your blog FOREVER and feel like you're the only person I 'know' with twins. LOL. So I was just wondering if you had any suggestions for sites online, sort of a what to expect when you're expecting twins- because I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT I'M doing! lol
SO familiar in our house! I also did not want locks on doors, but our oldest is 15 and with the youngest being 2, it becomes more of a safety issue than anything else. Our solution to keep everyone out of our oldest's (is that a word??) room was to put a hook and eye lock on the *outside* of the door. This way, when he's gone or not in his room, they can't get in; but it isn't on the inside so he can't lock himself away, either. Seemed like a great compromise for us - and no more missing wallets, money, permits, books ruined, stuff messed with! :D
We have an 8-year-old that destroys his older brothers' room. We DID put a lock on the door or otherwise they would have nothing intact. They are not allowed to lock in at night for safety reasons but it can be during the day to keep said brother out. However, I am sure your twins don't have the special needs Curtis has either.
yeah, I can see that. It's not a problem {yet}, the girls rarely get into their stuff. The boys just want a lock because they found one in the shop and it has a key that works. They keep making little reasons why they need/want it. Haven't heard any good ones yet! :)
Hey! Congrats!!!! How exciting! I joined a twin forum, haven't visited there in a long time but it was very useful when I was preggo. Send me an email and we can chat 4littlemenandgirlytwins{@}gmail.com
LOL - no, there would be no way I'd give in to a lock just for the sake of a lock! My oldest got to the point that he was even offering to buy one, but at the time also didn't really need it. Ours is a trickle down effect - the 7 year old helps the four year olds and the 2 year old joins in to ALL get into his stuff. The lock on the outside is helping immensely - but I also put it off as long as possible and I wouldn't do it either if it was just so they can have a lock! ;-)
That is so cute! I love the pictures on the wall. Did the boys do those?
ReplyDeletewhat a little sneaky sneak! haha- I'm sure I pulled these kind if stunts when I was teeny timy too:)
