You asked it... part I

mid afternoon snack... eating for 4 is SOOO HARD! *grin*

I just LOVE LOVE LOVE hearing from all of you... you are all so sweet. You've given me numerous smiles and giggles. Thank you Thank you! Some of you have asked questions... well... actually there were lots of questions. So I thought I would try to answer in a post instead of each of you indiviualy, especially since some of you had the same questions.

So HERE WE GO!!!

...we know they are identical twins because they share the same placenta and the same sac

...they were conceived 'naturally'... no ivf

...twins do not run in my mothers family or either side of my husbands family. I did however JUST learn that there are 3 sets of twins on my fathers mothers side of the family. 3 generations away. I did not think we would EVER have twins. :)

...yes we were planning on having more children, so #5 was planned #6 was a surprise. *grin*

...I am still breastfeeding Ozzie, he is 14 months and with the close supervision of our holistic chiropractor I will continue to nurse him until he is ready to wean which if he's like our other 3 he'll be ready at about 18-20 months. Just in time! I will however wean him early if I am becoming deficient for myself or the babies although I really hope I can take good enough care of myself to prevent this

...I am planning on exclusively nursing the twins

...I am extremely excited about having twins, even though Ozzie will still be a baby in his own right I know this is the God's perfect timing and it will all work out perfectly. I am not nervous or worried or scared. God is GREAT!

...the boys are SUPER excited about the twins, I've always said God gave our children the heart for a large family. 2 of the boys want girls... 1 wants boys because he doesn't want any girl toys in the toy room. Ha!

...I only kept the twins part a secret for one day, we only found out on last Wednesday. I did keep the pregnancy a secret for a little while

...I am feeling awesome so far, I've been slightly nauseous and keep having hot/cold flashes but other than that I'm doing great so far. Even though I'm only 11 weeks I feel like I'm 4-5 months preggo. It's crazy!

...I'm going to have to disappoint... we aren't planning on finding out what they are. Although, it is highly likely we will see with all the ultrasounds we will have

...I would LOVE to have 2 little girls in this house, so yeah I kind of hope they are girls, BUT we didn't try for #5 just to go for a girl. I LOVE my boys and would be unbelievably blessed to add 2 more boys to our family. God knows my heart.

...I didn't have amnio and won't, I actually won't be having any tests or blood work done unless completely necessary. I'll be working with my holistic chiropractor through muscle testing and adjustments to make sure I'm getting what I need

...I am planning on cloth diapering, I am just going to need a LOT MORE DIAPERS. We'll use fuzzi bunz or bum genius (which is what we use now)

...Hubby is incredibly excited too, he said "I knew it, YESSS" and started laughing when I told him

...when the dr. told me it was twins I got the biggest smile across my face, I wasn't upset at all, I was over joyed.

...we told the boys about the new addition over dinner, we gave them little clues and they had to figure it out, they thought it was a puppy or a kitten for a while. (this was before we knew it was twins). Later that night Gavin looked up at Paul and said "there are two babies in mom's belly" Little did we know he was right. We let the boys look at the ultrasound picture to figure out it was twins.

...my official due date is September 23rd, all of my babies have been born 2+ weeks early so I'm thinking early Sept. I'm going to try to keep those babies in there as long as I can!

I think that is it.... I am sorry I couldn't respond to each of you individually. I appreciate each and every comment and love seeing all the new names... delurking is delightful! If I missed a questions or you have a new one just leave it in the comment and I'll add it to this list.

have a great night everyone!

  3. Wow, people just aren't afraid to jump in there with the personal questions are they? The joys of blogland!

I am so excited that you're not going to find out if they are boys or girls!! How fun!

  4. Congratulations!!! I guessed twins in your 'Surprise!' blog entry! I have been praying A LOT for you today...for some reason you and your babies have really been on my heart, and I don't even know you! But I'm sure I'll have the pleasure of meeting you someday, since I'm also friends with Shelly and Sarah McCloskey. I just KNOW the Lord has big things in store for these babies and has great plans to use them for His kingdom. Blessings to you, your little babies, your boys and husband!

  5. I love how you answered all those questions with such grace and joy. I love hearing how much you love God and know He knows best for your family. I'm excited to watch/read you go through this journey.

  6. I had so much fun reading all the particulars! I love the way you are approaching this - sounds absolutely perfect.
I got pregnant with Eliza when Judah was 14 months as well... I think it's a great spacing. Not too close, not too far apart.

I'm so glad you are feeling really good - I read somewhere recently that eating a lot of legumes may help with morning sickness. I don't know how true it is, but you all seem to eat a lot of beans and it doesn't sound like you've had a lot of nausea. Who knows... beans just may be the key :)

Hope you have a great night!

  8. OH, I really needed (okay, wanted) a Q and A! Thanks! But, yeah, I can't believe what people asked! Inquiring minds want to know, I guess. I love being able to see more of who YOU are and how you TRUST God by reading your answers. Awesome.

  9. CONGRATULATIONS! I haven't read your blog in a while, so as you can imagine, I was quite caught off guard! I am so happy for you and the exciting (and unexpected) news of you having twins! You will have a household, that's for sure, but what a blessing for you and your family! My mom is an identical twin and her mother (my grandma) had 3 SETS OF TWINS! I always thought I was destined for twins, but I guess not. After having three individually, I am okay with that! Well, congratulations and good luck with the pregnancy. I will keep checking back!

  16. First of all Congrats! I am only slightly jealous :) as I would love twins! My cousin has triples and nursed them entirely, not a drop of formula, it is possible! I have been 'stalking' your blog for awhile. I love your approach to health, as we too, do our best to live that way. I also love your music, my children often dance to it when I am reading your blog :) Do you grind your own flour as well? Oh, if you don't, you should! It produces the best bread, muffins, and baked goods. ~Annika

  20. I should have my husband read your blog too. He would love to read about someone like me who wants more children. I only have one and I cannot get him to agree to another. If I had my way, we'd have 4. I love little patter of feet running in my home. Makes life better.
