sweet Sadie

Well we did it... we adopted a dog yesterday. Her name is Sadie and she is incredibly sweet and adorable. She is a 1 yr. old Doberman but she didn't have her ears cropped or tail docked. Thank goodness. We had been visiting the human society on the weekends for a little bit now... waiting to find just the right one. We spent a good amout of time with her on Saturday and then spent the rest of the day talking about her. We went back Sunday right when they opened to see her again. She was just as sweet and so well behaved. We just HAD to take her home! She is a big baby and loves to be cuddled. She doesn't like being out in the cold.... I'd say it has something to do with no body fat. Dobermans are so lean. It's nice... she's a 'little-big dog' and doesn't seem to shed much. I gave her a bath this morning and she did awesome. She knows sit, stay, lay down and come so far. I'm sure she'll relax and more of her personality will come out over the next few weeks. She LOVES Paul and we were a little worried about how she would do today with him gone but she's done great. She just found a new friend.... Gavin. Right after we got her we went straight over to my parents to hang out and watch the Colts game (boo-hoo) Sadie and Frisker were very relaxed together and did great. We were a little nervous because of all the dogs she has to get along with Frisker is the dog. Thank goodness they seem to love each other already. Plus now we know we have a 'dog-watcher' if we need. Ha!

I'm sure there will be more pictures to come.... a new subject is so much fun!

  14. she's gorgeous! We're actually adding a baby Dobie to our family next week! He's a red boy, just waiting on his Mama to finish up loving on him. We have a Frenchie too but hear Dobes are the BEST family dogs. Enjoy your new baby!
