Road trip rambling

We made it to Florida....
it was late and rainy ,
we lost our reservation, almost got stuck,
and ended up boon-docking for the night.
But we made it!

My husband has driven this rig through some tight places,
and has amazed more than just me.
We are truly blessed by his abilities!

I'm sure I'll share lots of photos along the way...
but I really want to share more.
This trip is something to me, to us.
The coming together of dreams & healing.

We did school for the first time yesterday...
all but one was actually excited. {grin}

We have been fighting off a cold and some other bug.
Thankfully it was not strep.
I thought we might have had a stomach bug too,
but it was just me and Eliza so maybe it was something we ate?
So thankful we are all almost better now.

Although we've been gone for a while now,
this truly feels like the beginning of our big adventure.
A new place, settling into camp, seeking new things...
we are so excited!

The boys are doing the Jr Ranger program,
at all the National parks we visit.
Roadschool at it's best. {grin}

I really want to put up a map on my sidebar,
so you can all see where we are at.
Anyone know of a good one?

The kids saw the ocean for the first time yesterday.
It was cool, beautiful and peaceful.
We even took a family picture...
which means there is proof I was there! {grin}
I turned it into a new header...
what do you think?

I just started working on a you asked it... road trip edition.
Hopefully I'll finish it up soon. {grin}

Paul and the big boys just got back from the grocery store,
time for some eggs finally...
we had been eating nuts and dried fruit for breakfast the last few days.

hope you all have a great day!

  9. If you do a map on the side bar, I recommend updating it after you leave, rather than when you arrive....privacy and safety. Welcome to the ocean! Glad you're having a great trip.

  12. I found your website somehow through the whole other mommy blogger who RV'd, etc...It's so refreshing to read your blog. I find you very down to earth and I enjoy reading your posts. I think you are creative and your pictures are really good. If you came to South Carolina I would definitely hire you as a photographer! Can't wait to see what the rest of your trip holds for you...

  22. I checked out the rv photos, very cool!  Do you have a fifth wheel?  We have 4 little ones and are looking at bunk house models, but no luck for our price range yet!  I love reading about your family!  Safe travels!

    It is a 5th wheel, it was really our only option besides a motorhome... because there are 8+ of us. We do sort of wish we would have gone for a motorhome instead. We've invested about the same at this point. Motorhomes are harder to find with quad bunks though. Oh the 1st world dilemma we have. :)

  29. Brittany, I LOVE your new family photo. I'm always looking for new ideas for taking family groupings of my own family.  I'm curious...did you have the camera on the sand pointing up a little?  How did you get this perspective?

    Thank you! :)

    I set my camera on the hard sand... I believe I had it set on 24mm. I'll post the camera numbers soon. I love ground shot perspective, I use it often. :)
