So exciting!!! How long ado you plan to be gone? No Canadian locations :( But I understand that Canadian weather is not where you would like to "escape" to this winter :) Can't wait to "come" along on your trip.

I think it's about 13 weeks that we will be gone... give or take. :) Maybe we'll come to Canada this summer, although my boys would love to see some snow now!

  11. Sounds like fun! I love following your family through the good times & the bad. I live right outside of Dallas now but went to Texas Tech in Lubbock & I promise it's not all that excited. :) What made you choose that destination?

I LOVE that you're letting the people call the price.  I've been shooting professionally for 10 years and that's they way I do it.  I've done quite a few free shoots, some for 20 bucks, some for more.  But it really feels like I'm making a difference in people's lives by providing them with lasting photo memories for whatever they can afford.  Coudos to you!

  16. What a fun trip! We still love our photos that you took of us and our twin girls. For anyone interest, Brittany does a great job in any circumstances (ours was one of the hottests days with 6 month old babies).

  20. I hope you enjoy Mobile, AL! It's my hometown and I truly LOVE it! :)

As a side note, I have to confess that I bookmarked your blog because my husband loves the name Magnolia and we will probably use it if we ever have a girl. I have one son name Gaillard (pronounced GILL-yard- it's a French name).

Anyway, I hope you enjoy Mobile!

  21. From the map it looks like you are going down Interstate 5 while in Oregon, make sure you go to the coast. The Oregon coast is so beautiful. I can offer some suggestions if you need city names, but don't miss the ocean.

  22. If you blink, you'll miss it. :)

  23. Wow, you're coming through our city!!  We are in Lubbock.  I really encourage you to visit the Buddy Holly center, Ranching Heritage center, and Lubbock Lake Landmark while here.  Great for your schooling:)  We are a homeschool family as well and I love to read about what you do!  Please let me know when you will be in our area and if we have some extra money I would love to have you do pics of my kids:)

  24. I have a question - how do you travel in an RV in the winter? We had looked at renting an rv last winter for our drive to Arizona (we are in MN) , and (granted, it was a rental) places around here don't rent in the winter because their units are "winterized" and if a person was able to find one to rent - there were so many waivers and warnings about the renter having to pay for any damage to the plumbing, etc from freezing pipes, that we ended up just doing what we always do - driving our vehicle but having to stop at a random hotel here and there to rest. Ick! Hate that.  Anyway, just curious how winter "camping" in an rv works. We have a tent camper, so winter camping would never work for us, but just curious how it works for the winter weather.

  25. I am so envious of your trip! My husband, Paul, and I dream about doing this someday. You'll be driving down I-74 through Illinois and therefore be one whole block from me as you drive through. Have a safe trip. It'll be fun virtually traveling with you and reading about your trip.

  29. I excited to follow along! This is something my husband and I would love to do someday.  How long is your road trip going to last?

  30. So fun, glad you guys decided to do it! I haven't been around blog land for the last 6-9 months, and I know when I was on before, you were talking about it! Clicked over on this post hoping you were headed through Nebraska! :( Maybe next time! ;) The pictures so far from your trip are beautiful!!
