late night talking

I totally just blew off my evening routine {minus the kitchen duty} to spend an hour or two with you... I'm am so blown away by all of your comments! It's been bliss getting to know many of you, hearing your stories, seeing your family & grinning to your kind words.

during this time I've managed to eat a few too many m&m's that I was planning to use for a color sorting game tomorrow.... thanks to Nana for her sweet and artsy mail love that arrived today.

Grayson is just now turning his light off at midnight... he is such a night owl like his parents!

We harvested, washed, peeled, diced and frozen 55 onions today... I say we because Grandma did the wash, peel and dice part and the boys did the harvest. {grin}

a sweet friend dropped by today... it was lovely... it makes me feel like I'm not out in the middle of nowhere. Even though we really are out in the middle of nowhere! She got a new camera and I got to show her how to use it while my naked wild young ones played in the pool with her sweet and quiet little girl.

we didn't flood the bathroom today... oh wait... we did... nevermind.

I saw the milky way tonight, without a telescope, I kept saying "seriously" and Paul kept saying "yes it's really the milky way". The North Dakota sky is AWESOME!

we are loving our new history book... in the boys words "it's so awesome, can we do more" Um... yeah!

Gavin said he needs to shave, he's 6, he doesn't need to shave. I told him to go tell dad and he came back and said "dad said it's just peach fuzz but be patient". He said he's shaving tomorrow.

Ozzie likes to try to not eat dinner if it isn't one of his 6 favorite foods {garbanzos, cucumber, waffles, bananas, blueberries or cabbage} so when I said it was time to eat he said he was just going to go to bed and he did.

The girls turn 2 on Thursday. The girls turn 2 on Thursday. The girls turn 2 on Thursday. Can we just pretend that isn't real! oh my!

I made tomato sauce for lunch {per boys request} and they said it needed a real name. So they named it red hemp sauce. I like!

Hubby is ready for bed so I must go... i'm not done reading through all of your comments, but i'm so going to sneak some time again soon! {grin}

goodnight all!

    i have never commented before but faithfully read your blog. I have 5 boys, ages 12, 10 and triplet 8 year olds! So, I feel like our lives are somewhat similar.

    Anyway, I'd love to hear about your homeschooling, specifically what curriculum you use. We also homeschool and just love it! Thanks!

  7. Thanks Brittany for visiting my blog. Your sweet comment about my children made me smile. I don't have tons of blog traffic, so I'm always pleasantly surprised when I have a comment. I have to say I'm envious, because where we live you can't see many stars at night....darn city pollution! I also have to say that i really love that you and your husband go to sleep together every night. Happy early birthday to your beautiful girls....in case I'm not reading blogs next Tuesday....since I only ready once a week or so. Have a blessed day. I may need the recipe to red hemp sauce!
    :)

  9. Your children are so cute/handsome.....I have 4 boys and one girl so I know the boys don't care for being told they are cute! :0) We also have a set of twins but ours are boys and 9 years old. Our little girl will be 3 in Oct! I know what you mean when you just can't believe your babies are growing up. It's so sad. :0(

    I enjoy reading your blog but don't get to post of visit real frequently.
