  5. What a great article. You hit home BIG TIME. We try very hard to emphasize to my 8 year old, to do something on the first time and when he says "hang on a second" I often reply back "no, I am not hanging on, get going now...." However, I realize that we not only do it to HIM all the time, my husband and I often do it to one another. There are so many times when Morgan (11 month) is doing something funny or I want my husband to look and he says 'hang on a sec' and by the time he does look its too late. But as minor as that is, it often frustrates me. I am sure my son Hunter also feels put off way to much by our "hang on a sec" response. Its not cool and I never realized how RUDE we were being to one another unintentionally and the lesson we are ultimately teaching or better yet instilling in our children.

Thanks for waking us up.... now if you hang on a second, Ill check out the little beauty who has a FULL page. LOL Okay so witch one is that? LOL

  11. I just have to share w/ everyone that my cousin (Bayley--I hope I spelled it right! LOL)is one of the girls who sings in the Cactus Cuties. They are out of Lubbock, TX! They have a lot of U-Tube videos...mostly the National Anthem, but various others as well.

Please keep her mom, Nanette, in your prayers, as she is trying to beat cancer! She's doing great for now!

  20. That was a great article, Brittany. I just want to share with you that I am a high school English teacher (and writer), and your coversational tone is so engaging. I remember you posting that to your blog (was that the exact same article or did you tweak it a little?) and I loved it then, too. Congrats!

  22. So proud of you woman!!!! What a great article! How did they find you? Kind of funny...or maybe not so much...both boys asked me for snacks while I was reading it. I tuned both of them out, yikes!!!! I guess they must not be starved yet. Love and mis you!!!

  23. Congrats on the article! One funny thing though- a lot of my friends are Mormon, and Mormons are known for their modest dress standards- most of my friends don't even wear sleeveless shirts, much less tube tops or spaghetti straps, one piece bathing suits, no low cut tops, shorts and skirts to the knee or longer, etc. So, as a complete side note, when I saw the picture of the Cactus Cuties on the cover and on the inside I thought "whoa, why are they wearing such little strappy shirts?! That's a lot of skin for little girls!" It's funny, because normally I wouldn't notice it, but hanging around with so many people who are *so* modest in dress I guess made me more sensitive to it.
