I NEED your help! We NEVER name our babies ahead of time, but I do normally look through names and have a list. Even though we have never named any of the boys off of THE list. Twins seem so much harder to name and I'm really drawing a blank this time around. I'd like to have some names on the list... even if we don't use them. Ha!
This is where YOU come in... gimmie some name ideas PLEASE!!
We like names that are different, not common BUT not weird.
I want it to be something that is easy to spell, read & say. I don't want my child to always have to correct the spelling or saying of their name.
I am really drawn towards N, L & E names. But we're open to ANY letter.
We have a lot more boy names that we like over girl names... but would love to hear ideas for both.
okay.... LET'S HEAR SOME BABY NAMES!!
all the boys in my house have the N, L & E, so here are my ideas: Noel (pronounced knoll), Lennon, and Elliott (the dad of the group).
ReplyDeleteGirls are definitely harder. I like Ella/Ellie. I don't have a good N name...and for the L, of course, Laura. :)
On the road home from a trip I saw a sign for "Skyland" and thought...that could be a pretty name. Or "Skylor".
ReplyDeleteMy daughter is Noel (not like Knoll from the comment above)Noel like Christmas...and we love it, we always get people saying how pretty it is..my sons name is Luke I got it from the bible and its just a bold great name. It is getting more popular now then when I named him.
ReplyDeletePersonally I love Jamison for a girl. Of course the fact that MY daughter's name is Jamison helps that thought a little. I just loved that it was unique.
ReplyDeleteI love E names. Girls- Elise, Eden, Elsa
ReplyDeleteBoys- Eli, Evan
Oh, and I forgot the name Electra for a girl, it's weird I know, but I just love it.
ReplyDeleteBefore we decided on Gauge for our little boy, I loved the name Ezra!
ReplyDelete~ Lacie
I agree... Elliot is a great boys name.
ReplyDeleteFor girls: Leah, Lucy, Norah, Claire...
that's all I can think of!

ReplyDeleteHow about Gabrielle and Grace, Mallory and Mackenzie, Lucy and Ella, Ashlyn and Addison, Maya and Leah, Willow and Eleanor, Sofie/Sadie and Scarlett. Or Finn and Wyatt, Gabriel and Ethan.
ReplyDeleteObviously I'm leaning towards girls. :) Hope your bedrest continues to go smoothly, and those babies hang on a little longer.

I feel the same way about names.....different, but not to weird, a little trendy, but not too common.
ReplyDeleteMy kids names just happen to start with E & N : )
My son's name is Elliott & my daughter's name is Norah.
Glad to see some other people like those names too : )
My sister's middle name (as well as my pomeranian's) is Ellis and I have always adored it. It was my great grandmother's maiden name. For a boy, I like Ethan or Elliot... or even Ellis.
ReplyDeleteFor a 'l' boy... I like Layne. And for a girl, I like Luka.
And, I am stuck on the 'n' names.

ReplyDeleteOr Ezra and Enoch for boys?
My little boy's name is Dade. I know it's not N, L, or E, but it is different.
ReplyDeleteLast week we found out we are having girl/girl twins. My husband and I are struggling for a second name, mostly becasue I had convinced both of us they were boy/girl. We had chosen the name Eli and Brennan. Brennan is normally a boy's name, but I LOVE it for a little girl. Best of luck with the name game. I will be checking back on the suggestions to see if I find something that will work for us.
Best of luck on the bedrest.
I loved trying to pick out names while I was pregnant. We always have the baby named before hand, but I totally understand you wanting to see the baby first. Here's my 2 cents...
ReplyDeleteBoys: Levi, Luke, Miles, Carter and Liam.
Girls: Norah, Eliza, Kaylee, Lyla and Olivia.
Are you going to try to name the twin very different names for each other or are you going to have them share a bong like both start with 'L' or both names will be 4 letters long???
Oh my goodness my typing stinks! I meant to type are the twins going to share BOND with their names not BONG!!! Sheesh sorry about that!! :)

So I am thinking you should add a name list to your side bar and you can delete as you get closer to narrowing down the list of names. It will be fun to see what you liked from all the names submitted and then if you ended up with any of them too for your precious (girls...just know it) babies.
ReplyDeleteML
Our twins are
ReplyDeleteHope Noelle &
Halle Faith.
I named one and my husband named one (I couldn't pull the "I went through labor and delivery so I get to name them" card because we adopted them). I wanted Hope and Noel.
Other options were:
Meadow & Brooke
Joslin and Brooklin
Not as unique as they were when we chose them, my boys are named...
Aidan Jacob
Ethan Caleb
Ryland Christian
I like Skyland btw!
Brittany, I'm curious as to what some of your favorite names are! I need name ideas too, lol! :)
ReplyDeleteOkay here are some N, L & E names... (I'm drawn to A, J and M names myself...)
For boys: Nolan, Luca, Ethan, Evan, Levi, Eli, Leo.
For girls: Natalia, Natalie, Emelia, Lane/Lanie, Lily, Ella, Emerson (Emmie for short), Nadia, Nora, Lola, Eden, Lucia/Lucy, Livia, Lia.

Ooooh, names! I love to talk names. :o)
ReplyDeleteDo you want "twin-y" names?
Girls:
Nadia :o), Rebekah, Jasmine, Bridget, Kaitlyn, Mikayla, Abigail
Boys:
Nathan, Elijah, Ethan, James, Phillip, Patrick
My friend has two sets of twins, and has boy/boy twins named Nevin and Nolan. Definitely unique!
ReplyDeleteMy name is usually used for a boy's name too....that is why I have always loved it for ME. There we never any other girls named Devin....
My friend named her son Elias. He goes by Eli.
I love Colin and Cameron (obvious reasons) and I personally think those would go really great with the names you already have in your family! (If you like them too, of course!) Grayson, Vance, Gavin, Ozzie, Colin, and Cameron. Cute! *grin*
Side note: I LOVE your boys' names. They are all great, and I think you will continue to do a fabulous naming job with these 2 as well. You definitely have gotten LOTS of help with the name game! Good luck on the decision...only a few more weeks 'till you meet these sweet little ones!
Ok, so everyone has pretty much said all the names I love except for one girl name, with an "L" that I love.....Lena. Good luck!
ReplyDeleteCool idea. Wish I had thought of it. You can always start making names of like some people:) Course then you have the spelling issue:) I found my list from when I was pregnant with Brilyn since I am pretty sure I am done with baby making you can have my favs. Everyone seems to be putting ASHER down and I really like that too! I had Ashlyn on my list for girls and almost used that for a middle name. I think it would be cool if you have girls to name one of them Clair like your middle name. I had that on my list too btw. Someone had Eden and I had that on my list it means "paradise" I also like Liv for a girl. I love Bailey for a boy but Aaron would never go for it and plus with our last name it sucks, but it sounds good with yours:) I had Haven on my list also it means "place of safety" I like Trevor for a boy. I also had Landon on the list that's an L for ya. We both really liked Blake for a boy too. And we were going to do Jake if we had another boy. Also like Tate it means "to be cheerful" which is cool. I also had Eve on my list which means "lifegiver" and that's an E. Would be super cool if I picked one of their names. I would be so proud.
ReplyDeleteThese comments were soooo much fun to read. I'm extremely impressed with so many of those names. More, more, more babies. I need them. There are just too many good names to pass up.
ReplyDeleteOkay, so for girls, I love Evan, Ellery, and Eden. Also Lilah, Abigail, Teagan, and Holland.
Boys are harder. Tobyn, Cairo, and Allistair. Oh, and I love Seamus (but it's hard to spell, pronounced Shay-mus).
I CAN NOT wait to find out what little miracles come out. :)
Oh, I forgot. We almost named Chase, Beck or Colby.
ReplyDeleteAnd Tatum was almost a Reilly.
I've always LOVED your boys names. My friend's daughter is Grayson (Graysie). It was on my list for Chase, too. I wanted ... okay wait, before I tell you, you can't laugh. I am NOT into sing songy-rhyming names, but I thought this was cool:
Grayson Ryan (boy)
Ryanne Grace (girl)
It's okay, laugh now.
I've always like Nehemiah for a boy. And Josiah.
ReplyDeleteFor a girl I always wanted to name her Caz (or Cazzie) Elisabeth. Of course Caz can go for boy OR girl.
I am having trouble thinking of names for my upcoming twins too. Right now I am leaning towards:
ReplyDeleteOwen and Samuel if 2 boys
Charlotte and Alissa if 2 girls
Owen and Charlotte if 1 of each
Hmmm you definately do have a tough job a head of you.

:)
Wow, so many names!
ReplyDeleteI’ve been reading your blog for a few weeks now; came over from Drea’s blog and had to keep reading :) We’re expecting our fourth (that will give us two girls and two boys :)and our kid’s names are…
Emma Rian (pronounced Ryan)
Kylie Hope
Duncan Micheal (Irish spelling)
Kellan Daniel
I’m out of ideas for any N or L names that are unique :)
Have fun!

stillchasncars@gmail.com
Oh this is so much fun! Here's some off the top of my head...
ReplyDeleteL's - Landon, Larson, Logan
Lily, Layla, Lila, Lacey
N's - Noel, Noah, Nate
E's - (got nothin' for boys)
Ella, Emerson (could be boy too, I guess)
Have fun choosing! Are you gonna pick all 4 (2 girls & 2 boys) before-hand?
I work in a newborn nursery, so many names are so overused. Make it unique, not trendy.
ReplyDeleteLots of Aidans,Addisons,Isabellas, Liams, Kailys, Emmas, Olivias. All good names, but you dont want 3 other kids in their class someday with that name. It makes it confusing for them and they become ie."Aidan B." The last initial becomes part of their name.
We had a girl last month with the name "June" -she was so cute. It suited her. We also had a boy named Mick. I like that
Although usually considered boys names I like Tanner and Tatum for little girls.
ReplyDeleteI also like Logan and Graham-although very common lately!
Best of luck!
also, you can look at your local hospitals newborn nursery website where newborn pictures are posted and get ideas what you like or what may be used a lot right now. They have their first names, last initial posted with pics
ReplyDeleteBecause, obviously, you don't need any more help with names..being that I'm the 70-something commenter and I'm sure every possible name has been mentioned...I'll just tell you what our favorites are.
ReplyDeleteIf our id twins were to be boys we were going with--Jack and Oliver. I loved the nickname Oli. Kinda like Ozzie. ;)
But since they were girls we loved--Norah Kae and Hazel Renae. Obviously.
Oh, I could squeal, I'm so excited for you!!!!
I have a friend whose girl/boy twins names are Raven & Blaze. Kinda cool, though I know you're having identicals, right?
ReplyDeleteI go for pretty plain-jane names: Sarah & Michael are my own kids.
I used to be a kindergarten teacher and one of my favorite boy names was Jack Owen (called both names all the time) and my favorite girls name was Emma. I also like the name Navi (like Navy) for a girl. I also had a student who's name was Jade and her two younger sisters names were Hunter and Kelly (all green!)
ReplyDeleteHappy Picking
Some girl names I like:
ReplyDeleteAva, Adelaid, Noelle, Natalie, Meredith, Maggie, Beatrice, Lydia, Lilly, Elizabeth (hehehe), Esther, Emma, Ella...hope that helps.
Some boy names I like:
...well, my top choice when we were pregnant and before we knew it was a girl was GRAYSON! :-)
Jackson, Jax, Rex, Max, Henry, Matthias, Roman, Kahl, Logan, Liam, Ian, Oliver, Hayden, Clay, Colton, Julian (ian for short also)...
SO MUCH FUN...thinking about baby names. Can't wait to hear what you choose!
my son is "Miller"
ReplyDeletegrandpa's name too
I know you dont know me, but I noticed your page title "4 Men and Twins on the way" and I tell you i was intrigued. I wanted to offer some names for you as well. Our friends just had twins and they named them Elijah and Elisha, from the Bible. And my son's middle name is Eoin. We liked a name beginning with E also, and I am of Irish heritage so it fit well. Many blessings!
ReplyDeleteHelen
ReplyDeleteRuth

Love your blog, btw! :)
Goodness you have a list going now. There was a beautiful little girl at our pool today named Nora. I like Cora as well. I have an Ayla, spelled Ailah. Friends of ours have a Noelle and she is an amazing young girl. I have always liked Georgia too. Boy names were hardest for us. Especially after you've used your favs. We have an Oliver-Ollie and Noah. I asked our youth group to name one of ours, their response was LaFauda Svetslanda and Jubaliee Jackson. So don't go that route...
ReplyDeleteI had fun with www.nymbler.com when I was preggo. You can put in the names you already have in your family and get suggestions that 'fit'. It was soo addictive. It will help pass some of the couch-hours.
ReplyDeleteI love the name Salvador for a boy.
I like Ruthie, Cora and Kylah for girls.
ReplyDeletehello. hope all is well with the twins and the rest of the family. My children are Adriauna, Easton and Loagin, but some of my favs are Kloey, Lexi, Luke.
ReplyDeleteWow! You have a HUGE list to choose from Brittany! How fun!! Would love to hear some of your favorites.
ReplyDeleteI met a little girl named Lilia at a playdate at Mck Mama's house one day and the name has stuck with me ever since. It's different but not hard to spell (I'm with you on that being important) and I think it's beautiful. I have no doubt you'll do a great job picking the perfect names for your sweet peas. You mentioned waiting until you saw each of your boys before deciding. Was it rather quickly then that the names came to you or were you like me and took a day or two to decide?
Our last name ending in an "e" sound put the kibosh on many many names. You not only have to take your last name into consideration but the cadence you want when you say their names. What are your thoughts on rhyming names or names that start with the same letter?
Like Tiffany, I could squeal too. :)
CUTE dress btw in your previous post.
All that commenting and I only coughed up one name. What a great friend I am. :)
Hi ran across your page & I must say it's really AWESOME!! Here's a few names you can choose from. A lot of them are not what you were looking for with the N, L & E in them but they are beautiful names just the same. Hope you like them.
ReplyDeleteBoy's: Evan, Avery, Joaquin, William, Jansen, Dirk, Patrick. Kort, Garritt, Ari , Eric, Dane
Girls : Chelsea, Lori, Nicole, Paige, Leona, Allegra, Holly , Fiona, Miya, Sofie, Alina.

Nadia,
Well, these happen to fit you liking N and L: Nora and Lilian. (We call her Lily) They fit two really nice girls I know - mine :) I give up on boy ones - you seem to have mastered that!
ReplyDeletehello
ReplyDeletemy boy name is '' ADA ''this mean in your dictionary ''island ''.In Türkiye we use thıs name boys and gırls.ıf I have gırl use ''MİNA'' thıs mean , our heavenly book included heavenly mountain.I hope tell my opinion clearly.
C. S. Lewis' Narnia books. I did some research on it since I'd never heard it before and it doesn't show up in name books and discovered that it is actually the Hebrew word for Truth. We planned to use this name for a boy (although I think it could be used interchangeably) but when we got a girl instead we chose the Greek word for Truth, Aletheia (Theia for short).
ReplyDeleteI posted above and then realized that half my comment was deleted! So here's what I really meant: I love the name Emeth (pronounced EH-meth). It is the name of a character in The Last Battle, from C. S. Lewis' Narnia books. I did some research on it since I'd never heard it before and it doesn't show up in name books and discovered that it is actually the Hebrew word for Truth. Makes sense because Emeth in the book is a man who was brought up in a pagan religion but he always loved what was right and was a truth seeker. We planned to use this name for a boy (although I think it could be used interchangeably) but when we got a girl instead we chose the Greek word for Truth, Aletheia (Theia for short).
ReplyDeleteFirst of all, that is an awesome baby picture! wow.
ReplyDeleteI really like E names, too, but our last name starts with an E and I just couldn't find anything that worked. I like: Ellis, Ellie, Emily, Emma, Ella, Eli.
For N: Nicole is common, but pretty to me. Nadine
L: Landen, Luke, Lynn, Lacey
We used my mother's maiden name with a different spelling for one of my boys. For another, we started with my FIL's name "Chester" and converted it to "Chase" for a middle name. We liked using family names and are generally more traditional.
Best of luck in picking two names! One each time was hard enough for us! :)
Our daughter's name is Aydia (A-dee-uh).
ReplyDeleteAs far as other names, Liam for a boy, Emerson for either, and Evan for a girl.
Good luck!
Eli, Ethan, Nathan

My children's names are not common but not weird either. They don't fit the letters that you like but I thought I would throw them out there.
ReplyDeleteAutumn, Mara (the ma is like mama), and Ian.
I also had names picked out that we didn't use: Abigail, Alexander, Catelyn (I wanted a Cate), Colin, and I like Millie (Mildred) and Gertie (Gertrude like Drew Barrymore from E.T.) but hubby wouldn't do it. I love old names but since I worked with the elderly my husband couldn't name his baby after one of my residents. I loved the idea of it though.
Can't wait to hear what you like. :)

ReplyDeleteHere is the Social Security Admin's baby name site with real statistics about what is popular and what is not. You can go to 2007, choose top 1000 names, and spin through the ones lower on the list for ones that are used but not common.
http://www.socialsecurity.gov/OACT/babynames/
"Reeves" is a family name that I love. It is gender neutral too...Just a thought. Will continue to pray for everyone to remain healthy.
ReplyDeleteIt's so funny we did a baby name post on the same day :)
ReplyDeleteI will have to read through yours when I get a chance, you definatly got a lot of help :)
I am very very excited for you too. I can't wait to know what your having. What do you feel like they are? How are you feeling these day?
And no, we don't want to go with another A name, I can't keep my kids names strait as it is :)

ReplyDeleteAlso, she looks at Baby Name Wizard, a book. Sorry no suggestions, we are making our own list but for one, not two, i wish I was picking two names, maybe next time!
I know a set of twins that are named - Jack and Carly, which is pretty cute, and also the names Jack and Janie.
ReplyDelete~Jean

Hi Brittany!
ReplyDeleteI am a mother of an 11 year old girl: Mia and 7 year old triplets: Anya, Sophia and Ian. I love the names we picked.

For boys I like Matthew, Samuel and Joel.
Have fun naming your sweet babies - i am sure they will be just darling and perfectly named!
-Juliana

I think that hearing of other children's names *who have children who share your boys' names* may be names you'd like... One girlfriend has Greta and Gavin, her little boy is named Gabriel (Gabe) and if she was a girl she would've been named Gentry. I think Gentry and Genevieve would be classy, yet cute, unique yet not wierd. :o) ~Becca
ReplyDeleteWhen are you going to get on here and give your opinions/answer questions??? lol
wow that's a lot of comments
ReplyDeleteSo I see that you have gotten a few names, but i thought I would lend my list over.
ReplyDeleteEllie, Ella, Leigh, Lee, Nadia, Noel, and Nate.
~Elyse~
Holy Shmoly! Your comment audience have really upped their ante. Maybe I should try for a 5th, just to get the baby naming crowd over to my place. ;)
ReplyDeleteI'm still stickin' with:
Jack/Oliver
or
Norah/Hazel
...say it with me now...Jack/Oliver...(there you go)...
You have so many great ideas. Here are a few more:
ReplyDeleteGirls: Adeline, Amelia, Annabelle, Ainsley, Aria, Brynn. Brinley, Aubrey, Bridget, Camille, Chantelle, Delaney, Dominique, Hadley, Ireland, Isla, Ivy, Linley, Landry, Laken, Maren, Neve, Raina, Ruby, Scarlett, Simone, Stella, Tessa
Boys: Beckett, Bennett, Brecken, Bryce, Callum, Declan, Easton, Finn, Finley, Hudson, Jace, Jett, Julian, Kai, Keegan,Levi,Maddox, Quincy, Quinlan, Roman, Tanner, Tate, Weston, Xavier
i just stopped by and thought i'd leave a name or 2. my little' guy's name is christian, but his middle name is Phoenix which I love. I also have a Dakota Skye and a Sierra Brooke. The little girl we are adopting is named Nevaeh Grace (Nevaeh is Heaven spelled backwards)
ReplyDeleteI've always loved Kai for a boy, but our last name majorally clashes.
I thought of you tonight when I saw a book at the bookstore with the name Haven on the front cover. It would go with your other 'v' names, but might be too close to Gavin...
ReplyDeleteI think I heard on the radio that a celebrity had a baby girl recently that she named Honor. Interesting - especially if you paired it with Haven and could start both names with the same letter, but not have the matchiness of the same sound. I can't decide if I care for that or not....
What names are your boys pulling for?
Okay, I'm going to deviate from the N, L, and E names. Jeneva. It's my daughters name, so I'm kind of partial to it. It's not pronounced like Geneva, Switzerland. It's Jen-u-vuh. Does that make sense? It means "purity." Anyway, other girl names: Elle, Ava, Cora, Paige
ReplyDeleteBoy names. Hmmm. We always have a hard time with boys names. Our son is Jude. It means "Praise and Thanks." Love. It. Fits him. Also, Levi is a good one, but maybe too common now days. Isaiah if you like another good Biblical name.
Best wishes to you! Can't wait to hear what the perfect names are!
Oh yeah, I was going to say, I have aunts who are twins and their names are Laverna and Laverta. Now there are some options for you! Ha!!
ReplyDeleteOur little girl's name is Moriah, and we call her Miah as a cute nickname, pronounced with a long "i". Just thought I'd throw that out there for you because you only *wink* got 140 other posts!!! Your baby baby belly is very popular! I enjoy your blog!
ReplyDeleteHad such a good time reading through all the suggestions, I had to add a few. There are names that I like, and that come from my family.
ReplyDeletegirls:
Eiler (eye-ler) -- it's a last name, but used as a middle name for a girl in my family; i think it would make a great first name

I'd love to read all of the comments...but I must get to bed...so I don't know if these have been mentioned or not. My second son's name is Easton and our second daughters name is Gracyn. Not common names here in South Dakota. Our first son's name is Isaac and our second daughter is Madisen.

My twin boys are Luke and Sam and for the life of me we can't pick for boy #3. I don't want something so plain but husband wants something solid. We are thinking of one of the above. Husband likes Truman and Oliver. I like Tate and Knox.
Sorry no help if they are girls. Hang in there with the bedrest. I was on hospital bedrest for 6 weeks and boys were born at 34. Best of luck!!
My girls are Elise, Nina, and Addison, so there's an E and an N for you!! :)

Truly this comment is because I wanted to be #170 - ha!
ReplyDeleteI love, love, love picking out baby names. It's one of the best things of a pregnancy besides the amazing little one(s) growing inside you of course.
It's cool that you and your hubby wait to see the babies before you name them. It think I've told you this before but me & my hubby are totally opposite of you. We want to have a name before we go to the hospital. We were sweating it w/Jericho b/c I only had 4 weeks left and we still didn't have a name picked out! Too funny! Oh and we don't tell anyone till the baby is here. That is the best part!
Can't wait to hear the names.
Will you let your boys have a say in the babies names?
Tarah
I'm going to have to star this post so I can come get name ideas next time we are expecting.
