LOVE this boy...

Did you know I have FOUR boys... yeah... really! I know I don't talk about them much... it's all girls girls girls but they are most definitely here and my oh my do I love them so!
My dear first born... I am a first born... it can be hard. To always be the one who "should know better" and "be a good example". It's definitely a hard place to be... although one could say that the middle child, baby or anywhere in between is a hard place to be for it's own set of reasons.
Anyway what I was getting at is how blessed I am to have my wonderful Grayson be our first born. He is INCREDIBLY responsible, level headed, street smart, strong, helpful, caring, loving, thoughtful, and so much more!
I just spent the last few days watching this boy dote on his sisters, take care of them when I couldn't, put Ozzie back in bed for his nap while I was feeding the girls, give Ozzie numerous piggy back rides, read all of his brothers books, lead his brothers into cleaning the kitchen, make eggs and grapefruit for breakfast, cut up red peppers and carrots for a snack for himself and his brothers, make his bed perfectly, help Ozzie brush his teeth, help Ozzie pee on the potty when I was feeding the girls, put his laundry away, help his brothers get their snow gear on, watch out for his brothers outside, take the dog out numerous times, vacuum his room, help his brother with homework...
and that's just what came to me without really thinking of all that he's done.
He truly is amazing and a blessing to us all!
I had to put this is writing... because he deserves it! Boy oh boy do I LOVE this boy!

  9. I have three boys w/ my oldest being 4. He loves to be the "big helper" now and will give the baby his pacifier, "read" books to Bodie (2), help Bodie if he falls down, loves, to help me in the kitchen (banana bread is his specialty), etc. It is amazing to watch.

  25. I loved being an oldest! Sounds like Grayson is a wonderful big brother. What is the deal with all the hating. Just think if the anonymous people spent there time doing good rather than being nasty!

  26. Wow! He is an awesome helper! Ok, so at what age do they become capable of all of that? I could sure use some help around here but my oldest is nowhere near able to do that stuff.

  27. Sounds like he truly loves being a big brother! Kids who do the things you wrote about love their parents also because they want to help out and make things easier, especially on a mother who is very busy trying to raise her kids right.

  28. I did a post by the same name about a month ago. My son is the baby though.

Grayson sounds like a little grown up! (and such a "fist child" I am one too).

    Your family is just adorable!

  29. What happened to the Golden Rule...for crying out loud people...typos happen. If you can't say something nice, then don't say it at all! Constructive is far different that down right nasty.

Way to go Grayson on being such a great helper!

  30. seriously anonymous?!? On a post where Brittany is encouraging and supporting her child, you have to be so negative! I really wish the world had more children who were willing to lovingly care for their sibblings and help out their parents when necessary. There are certainly enough selfish little people out there already! I'm proud of Grayson for happily stepping into his role as big brother, and for his parents for raising him well.

  31. Go Grayson!! Our oldest son could take a few lessons. He is great with our 3 month twin girls but could be a little nicer to his 2 younger brothers.

  32. He really is a special kid! All that sweetness reflects on your excellent parenting! :-)

I'd be happy to try and work on a button for you...email me at elephantjuicedesigns about what you have in mind :)

I'll have to come back later to "play" this week!
