photos gone bad...

I tend to have these amazing, awesome ideas for pictures of the girls but too many times they don't turn out like I had imagined. This being one of the times... I couldn't get the girls to 'stack' on top of each other so I could see both of them, they just kept rolling around and moving their little arms and feet when they were supposed to be asleep. It was great! Plus I was having trouble getting the 'tulle' to stay where I wanted it without creases and such. UG!

Well I finally had an idea that might work so we {paul and I} took the girls out and sat on the bed to feed them - to top off their tanks - so they would continue to be happy while we tried to suspend them in netting... yeah... sounds great huh! Anyway, I'm sitting there feeding 2 NAKED babies while hubby was re-setting up and it happened... Eliza pooped, she pooped big, all over herself, her sisters feet and legs that were intertwined with hers and of coarse my leg, hand and bed. It was AWESOME! I just sat there and laughed... and laughed... and laughed. It's all I could do, I mean come on what are you supposed to do when poop goes everywhere. At least it's baby poop and it doesn't smell bad.

So.... we quite after that, it was time to pick Gavin up from preschool, I think hubby was a big worn out {grin} and the babes needed clothes on before someone pooped again. Maybe i'll try again this week... I still think it would be a cool picture, if I can get it to work.

  2. Baby poo. It's everywhere! The picture is a cute idea. Maybe try having them head to feet next time. It might even it out and make it where you can see the one in back better.

  3. So cute and chunky. I just love twins. I think the head to feet idea would work well but i am by far no photographer so i dont know. I hope you get it next time but in the mean time no picture of those cuties is a bad one!

  5. Well, you may not have the perfect picture to remember that day, but I bet you'll never forget the story behind it!

  6. That picture looks like how they might have looked in Mommy's tummy...those are the cutest, roundest, bellies :) Hope the next try works out better...and cleaner!

  11. Just the other day I was wondering how all that nakedness was working out for you :)

It would be a really cool picture, I hope you get it to work, and then, do you want to come here and take photos of my little one?

  15. The pic is adorable...isn't baby poop the best!

  16. The pic is a cool idea, even that one looks neat even though it isn't what is in your minds eye.

Um, the fact that you were nursing two babies naked, kind of seems like you might have been asking for it! I'm just sayin.

  17. Hahaha that's such a great story! Great picture idea as well. I agree with another post above, maybe try them laying opposite in the tule. Perhaps you'd be able to see the one behind better. Or, put a small rolled blanket underneath the 2nd baby to elevate her just a little bit to give that "stacked" look.

  18. Oh goodness! It's just the way things go isn't it? I think it's pretty amazing what Momma's find funny though. I can think of more than a few friends who would have had an absolute fit over being pooped on. I think I'd have screamed, and then laughed. :) Good for you for having a sense of humour. With 6 young'uns, I guess you'd have to!

  19. I remember big poops everywhere as well, but NOT without a diaper! :) Do you ever just take snapshots without poses? Just wondering!

We had a twin poop incident in the tub the other night. I was in the tub bathing them both and all 3 of us were covered in poo!

Good luck if you give it a second try. If you are interested you can see mine on www.sialiaphotography.blogspot.com

  31. That is too funny! Sorry about the mess, but at least it made for a good story.

Your girls are getting so big! Hard to believe how much they've grown in such a short time!

    ReplyDelete
  32. Oh, that's a cute picture. It reminds me of babies suspended in the womb, floating around in there.
Kind of like a transparent window into their world.

  33. have you seen the work of Anne Geddes?? she is a renowned photographer from New Zealand...who famously shoots amazing photographs of babies. You will get some great inspiration for your own shots if nothing else.
I take my hat off to you both for even attempting to do this....well done.
Show us how it turns out.... and bravo for laughing at the overwhelming poop....it's almost like crying over spilt milk...who cares...just clean it up and get on with it...yay

  34. That is funny! Sorry, but it is. If it makes you feel any better, my twins did something similar, only we were with some friends of mine who are professional photographers. Neither one of them had gotten the opportunity to photograph two week old twins before, so they jumped on the opportunity. (and so did I, since they have more expensive camera's then I do) So...two naked babies, who did not want to sleep at the same time..... we put them, naked, into two adorable little baskets, and for the first time they seemed to be ok, then we went to take them out, and both baskets were filled with nice little presents! Yours is worse, since it was ON you, but come on, you know how easily digested breast milk is, what did you expect when you feed naked babies! ha ha

  46. Hi there! I just stumbled upon your blog a little while ago and I just LOVE it! You are an amazing photographer and I love how candid you are. (I just read about how you guys met and started your life together...that was so honest of you to share). Your kids are all so beautiful! Wow, and twin girls after all those boys...they are SO precious. My husband and I have been trying to have a baby now for 6 years and are in the process of doing fertility treatment. We know that no matter the outcome the Lord will be glorified, and his plan IS best! Anyway just wanted to say hi and I wish I knew you in "real" life :)

    Blessings! Sharon
