You asked it... part {i forget}

More Q & A... Yeah!

Q: Some mom's chose not to vaccinate. Is that the case with you?

A: No shots here... at least not anymore. We started out vaccinating our children {unfortunately} I didn't want to but didn't know enough to be sure that not vaccinating was the right thing. A few years back I started doing a lot of research and that is when Paul and I came to the decision to quit vaccinating the kids. I am so glad we did... I just wish I would have known sooner. Grayson had them up until he was 4, Vance 2 & Gavin a few months old.... Ozzie and the girls haven't had any. Grayson is actually taking supplements right now to slowly leach the mercury out of his body from the vaccines that supposedly do NOT contain mercury. Hmmmmm.

Q:
If you don't vaccinate, how do you get around the schools? Aren't they supossed to be vaccinated to enroll?

A:
adding to the above answer... each state is different but most states allow you to fill out a simple form stating that you do not want to vaccinate your children. It's easy but they don't offer it... you have to ask for the form. We've never had a problem. They do make it seem like you 'have to' have the vaccines before you can be enrolled but it's not true {at least here}

Q:
why don't you take him to Ped? just wondering. do you do that with your other boys? Aren't they ever sick, ear infections etc?

A:
We love our ped... we just don't need him that often. They boys are very healthy and since we don't vaccinate we have no need to see him that often. We see a holistic chiropractor that helps teach me and show me all I need to know to treat the kids for simple colds or runny nose, ect. And we have only had 1 ear infection in 8 years. Good ears I guess! Gavin actually has an appointment tomorrow because he is in preschool and they require a check up within the last year and Gavin hasn't been since the beginning of '05. Too bad I didn't think of that before we went last Friday. Ooops!

Q: why is their first visit? esp since they were preemies. Most peds do every 1 week weight checks. Just wondering. I work as a RN in a ped office.

A:
Our ped saw the girls in the hospital everyday and then made a home visit when they were a week old. I checked in with the ped at 3 weeks and then made their appointment for 6 weeks. Since we do not vaccinate there is no set schedule. Our ped also lets us come in anytime without an appointment to do weight checks if we want. Although we didn't because we weighed them at home. It's so stressful going to the doctor's office... especially with lots of kids. So unless we need to... we don't.

Q: Love the background on these pics. What is it?

A:
it's the walls in our front room... they are yellow and orange texture. It's the first room I painted when we bought our house 8 years ago. I still love the color!

Q:
Grayson stands alone as being your only blue-eyed boy, doesn't he?

A: He does! He gets those beautiful blue eyes from his Nana Trice. We'll see if the girls have blue eyes... too early to tell.

Q:
Were you told to expect identical twins? or will you get the DNA test done to prove it? Were there 2 placentas? that the easiest way to know, really.....and really who cares, they're beautiful and they will be different somehow.

A: We were told by our OB and peri that they are 99.9% sure they are identical. They shared a placenta, were in the same corionic sac and had an incredibly thin membrane between them... not to mention they look very alike. {grin} We won't be doing a DNA test... no need.

  2. we don't vax either. tulip is almost 18 mos old and no shots. i always get looks from anyone who hears... whatever...

    anyway, maybe you have some insight. we live near the border now and in a town with a lot of illegal immigrants. would you reconsider if you were me w/ the fear that there are a lot more diseases that we might be exposed to?

    i'd be very interested in your perspective.

  5. We don't vax either. It's amazing how easy it is to get exempt, but the school's make it seem like it is SO hard! :) Yeah, for informed decisions! We also don't visit the ped very much anymore. I have a holistic chiro too and it is amazing how much healthier I've been since I switched and I've learned SO much!

    Your new layout is bee-you-tiful!! Just like your family! :)

  10. Hey girl!!! I LOVE the new layout!!! It looks GREAT!!!! :))
    I have a question, tho. I was interested in hearing about your extended families. Do you and your man have siblings? Do either of your parents live nearby? Etc., etc......

    One more quick question before I go - what would be a good dr. to see for more "natural" remedies. I am soooo tired of drs. pushing meds (they can be good), but I am interested in some "natural" ideas!
    THANKS, girl!!!! :))

  14. just some added info on the vac's, I also do not vaccinate and found out that the mmr and chicken pox vac is made with aborted fetuses and that is so terrible to me especially since very few people know about it.
