Thanks for this! You help remind me how great it really is to have boys (even though I don't quite get them sometimes!) and to let them be boys. I have four boys and one girl. So, thanks again for inspiring me to enjoy and love and have fun with my kids...even in the chaos!
I adore my big boys, too! And it is fun when they're bigger than you. It's amazing to watch them become men before your very eyes. Just remember when you have to get onto them to have them sit down somewhere before you start correcting. It's much, much easier to when you're not looking up at them. :-) I'm 5'3 and my boys are 6'4 and 6'2.
Ha! I didn't even notice that, I'll have to go look at the photo again now to see who it is, although I can guess who it probably is. :) ________________________________
My "big" boys are 31 and 27!!! I LOVE the relationship we have now as much as I did when they were little. Love having 2 way conversations, learning from them, watching them become the men God created them to be. Every stage in their lives has it's struggles and it's joys. Enjoy all of them and don't look back and wish for one or the other again. Embrace the one they are in now!!!!!
My 1.5-year-old son is already closing in on his sister, who is a year older than him. I have a feeling he's going to be bigger than her within the year. And I'm almost positive he'll be bigger than me before it's all said and done, but fortunately I still have a while with him as my "little."
For some reason this reminded me of the day my older brother finally beat my mom at arm wrestling- that's when he really knew he was bigger than mom. :)
my eldest son is 15 & a half right now.... and it's really strange to hug your "boy" but his body feels like that of a man..... large shoulders, chest etc..... he is head & shoulders above me. It's strange and wonderful all rolled into one. I can't wait till my four other sons are the same {not that I'm wishing away their childhood... I just mean I look forward to it :)} xx

I have two little boys and look forward, with joy, to them growing into big boys!
ReplyDeleteLoving the mismatched socks. Mine do that all the time - two of them are colorblind but the other two have no excuse!
