Random Picture Challenge 5.0
There are 2 ways to pick your random picture this week so more of you can play along.
March

5th picture from the end
or

{March 2008 is MY 10th folder... that's how I picked this}
5th picture from the end

Easter at my parents house... that's little Ozzie and Uncle Nick playing eggs. That was only a few weeks after we found out we were having twins, I think before we knew they weren't monoamniotic.

those were just some of the clues the boys worked for {each bite of split pea soup got them one clue} but they never guessed what the Christmas eve surprise was. They seriously had like 30+ clues. They ate an entire stock pot full of soup. Ha! Might try that one again.
Can you guess what the surprise was?
all of the kids were told to go upstairs and put on their pj's that I had laid out, and there were boots and hats with them.
they came downstairs all confused

i told them to go get a spoon and get in the van...

they STILL had no idea what we were doing {the spoon really had them confused}
after we were driving I handed out bowls of ice cream {with lids} and we went off in search of the best Christmas lights!

when we got home their were presents under the tree... my dad had come into town - without the boys knowing - and had put gifts under the tree and then drove to get coffee waiting for us to come home.
They were so excited but kept saying how did someone get in our house and who could it be. We said it 'must be santa' but that didn't work. {we don't do the whole santa thing}
a few minutes later my Dad came back and we all enjoyed a nice evening sitting around reading Christmas stories.
Merry Christmas
Merry Christmas everyone! I loved looking through so many of your Christmas posts... consider this my comment. {grin}
We had a wonderful day... we stayed home and my parents and brothers came over for Christmas brunch and presents before heading out of town to celebrate with the rest of the family. Wishing we could have gone... but uggg... not the year. Maybe next year!
The boys were THRILLED with their 'secret santa' gifts.... who ever you are out there YOU ARE AWESOME! We have been so blessed this season, God is so great!
i've been fighting a migraine all day but I wanted to say Merry Christmas everyone!
I'll be back with pictures soon!

Happy New Year!

We spent a glorious evening at home... with the kids. After putting Ozzie to bed... we weren't going to try to keep him up... we sat around the table and had chips and dads salsa, fruit salad, brownies and ice cream & wine (sparkling juice for the kids). We talked about 2007 and special memories we have. One unanimous pick was our wonderful trip to North Dakota this summer... it truly was THE best vacation we've ever had. Then we talked about our own personal 'resolutions' and a family goal for this year. Vance practically fell asleep in his seat at 11:30 so we sent him to the couch... but Gavin and Grayson were wide awake. Gavin's resolution is to stop stealing and sneaking things. See he has a knack for smelling out any sweet thing anywhere.. it's crazy! He also likes to sneak into Grayson's 'spy gear' and take things for his own. Grayson's resolution was to "make better choices and think before I act" he's such an amazing boy.
We decided Ozzie's resolution for him... to sleep better. And Vance responded with a 'uuuuhhhh' from couch. My resolution was to slow down and enjoy each and every moment I have with these precious children. I get so rushed... so... "I need to get this done". When I really don't... I need to stop... kneel on the ground and bathe in the glory of these marvelous children. They won't be small forever but the house work and laundry will always be there.New Years normally comes and goes for me... not a big deal... but this year was different. I am THRILLED it's 2008 because that means 2007 is over! This year has been the hardest most challenging year of my life. I learned so much about myself this year and in some respects rediscovered myself. If only this were my personal journal I could disclose all... but it's not... so I won't... you'll just have to stay tuned. :)
So what did you all do.... did you stay home too or did you do something amazingly cool! Ha!

Our Christmas

And oh what a Christmas it was... I'm kind of glad I waited to post about our Christmas because it's given me a chance to 'de-stress' and slightly forget all the woes that happened along the way. We didn't end up leaving for Indy on Friday night because... you guessed it... I wasn't ready! This is SO unlike me. I still had shopping to do, the house was a wreck and so on. So... my mom and dad kept the boys over night so Paul, Ozzie and I could finish up shopping and packing. Saturday morning it took us 3 HOURS to get out the door. After we picked up the boys and were an hour away we realized that Paul had left his phone in the barn. He laid it there while he was talking on speaker phone and filling air in the tires. Nice... so our 3 1/2 hour trip took
7 hours I think. Oh and I could not find my camera battery charger ANYWHERE and it was dead. Hince why there are no before Christmas pictures right now. Grayson actually found it in a bag I happened to bring... but the charger was not supposed to be in there. Lucky me! We had a nice weekend at my dads house... baked cookies, played basketball in the basement, watched movies, drank wine, went shopping & wrapped presents. The part that really sucked was Ozzie started getting a rash on Christmas eve and it got worse and worse and he STILL has it. I thought it was stress... he got a rash when we went on vacation this summer but now I'm not sure. Maybe allergies??? I really don't know... I'm leaning towards it being something viral. He had a slight cold the week before and his immune system would have been slightly compromised when we left town.. so with that and the stress and other stuff going around I'm wondering if this his how is body is dealing. I really thought it would have been better by now but it's not and I can't take him in until Wednesday because of the weekend and the holiday. So we'll see... Anyway. Christmas! We had Christmas morning at my dads and then we all went to my Aunt Connie's for Christmas afternoon-evening and had a wonderful time. It was great to see everyone and the kids had a blast. We ended up leaving Grayson and Vance there since we had to drive home Christmas night and My parents and brothers brought them home the next day. Overall it was a wonderful Christmas............... but we're not going out of town next year!Sorry for the book.... let the pictures begin!!!!
Here's my dad and the boys... Ozzie was THRILLED!

My beautiful Cousin Ashley... I love you Ash it was so nice to see you. I wish we would have had more time.
