welcome to our home on wheels
unofficially named
bye-bye-birdie
and
hotel North Dakota
it's our big-little home
...that surprisingly enough feels just the right size
...that surprisingly enough feels just the right size
the kitchen feels just like home {grin}
tiny fridge, little counter space, dishwasher and garbage disposal free
...but it works pefectly!
to hold cook books, produce baskets and more
and we actually have a pantry...
our first home with a real pantry!
top half is stocked with food and the bottom half is our roadschool bookshelf
the boys sleep in a "bunk house"
despite first glance the bunk room is full of storage
...they have a "dresser" plus full storage under both bottom beds
both the kitchen table and the couch turn into beds
up here is the bathroom, a full wardrobe and our bedroom...
we have a surprisingly comfortable queen bed
...that lifts up to reveal more storage, that we have filled with more pantry food, the girls bedding and my ikea finds
this has been named the dressing room... with polka dot curtains on either side {grin}
I would love to paint
...and recover all the ugly fabric
hope you enjoyed the tour!
Looks cozy! The pantry is huge for an RV. Wow! I love the bathroom rug, too. Where did you find that?
ReplyDeleteYAY! another family on a road trip. You probably already said, but where are you heading!? Isn't it fun to be able to teach on the road?? Great diggs. Who would think you could fit so many people comfortably in one tiny space? Happy trails!
ReplyDeletei love it! and find you and your family well deserving of everything you have and everything that is to come your way.
ReplyDeleteOh yes, its cozy! And the pantry rocks! The rug was from a thrift store years ago...

Thank you joni! I feel so blessed and thankful for where we are at right now. Never doubt Gods plans. :)

Haven't heard from you in a while! :) we are traveling through the midwest and some south for a month or so...just testing the waters for our big trip. :)

Too funny! The inside of your camper looks almost identical to mine and has the same set up. We have the quad bunks too and everything. I covered our ugly fabric cushions with fabric (I used sheets that I cut) and sewed elastic around the underside. Simple, fast slipcovers. Because I know that camper fabric is always tacky! LOL We are getting ready to move back into our camper too. Any chance of you guys coming out west?
ReplyDeleteIt is amazing how it all seems to work out, isn't it? I wouldn't have thought you'd all fit comfortably in there for so long, but you proved me wrong! We are renting an RV and traveling around Alaska in August; very excited :)
ReplyDeleteLove the 4 bunk set up. You did a good job so far disguising the trailer fabric with the color. Looks like a lot of fun!
ReplyDeleteYour motor home is so cool! I love the colorful touches to off-set the ugly walls. :) My dream for homeschooling, almost 9 years ago, was to travel all over the country so my kids would have a sense of history from something other than books. I'm so glad you are able to do this for you and your kids.
ReplyDeleteBrittany,
ReplyDeleteI have been reading your blog for about a year now and I really enjoy! I would love to one day have the opportunity to travel like this, maybe I should ask God and talk to my fiance! Enjoy your travels!!
Audra
Love it! Do you guys own the RV? I so want to buy one but don't have anywhere to store it when we aren't using it.
ReplyDeleteHow do you do dinners, or any meal for that matter.. the table seems to small for all of you? Love the colorful touches
ReplyDeletepretty sweet. cool quad bunks!
ReplyDeleteLove your place mats! Been looking for some laminated maps...where did you find yours??
ReplyDeleteI love all the bright colors and fabrics you've used! Makes for one happy place!!
ReplyDeleteYour home on wheels could not be more adorable!! I've been going back and forth on whether or not to buy that duvet cover you have on your bed . Up until now I haven't been able to picture how it would look on a bed...but thanks to your pictures, I now can! Next time I'm at IKEA I'm def going to be buying it!
ReplyDeleteI love all the placemat/posters every where (especially in the boys' room). You also call this a schoolhouse on wheels :)
ReplyDeleteHey! Absolutely love the home on wheels. I am so happy for you and your family. This has to be an absolutely wonderful opportunity for all of them. Plus you are probably meeting so many nice people. I can't believe you actually shared with us that your boys have dirty clothes....how dare you as a mother allow that (ha ha...couldn't resist). Everyone else was being so nice. Other than the windows, it's just like living on a submarine. Not much privacy and food and supplies stored in every nook and cranny. Loving it. Hopefully next trip you'll make it to the east coast.
ReplyDeleteJim.
what an awesome RV!
ReplyDeleteLegos-can't leave home without 'em! Thanks for the tour, hope you guys are having fun!
ReplyDeleteLooks amazing...and SO fun! What memories you are making with your family. Safe travels to you all!

Thats funny...it is beautiful...its actually the girls comforter but we "store" it on our bed
ReplyDelete________________________________
Thats how I feel when I walk in too...happy!
ReplyDelete________________________________
ours are old...i looked for more and couldn't find them. I think these were from the grocery store years ago.

We are really good at squeezing into small places. :) the 6 kids can fit on the benches and we pull to chairs up to the table. Thats when we eat inside...usually we eat outside though.
ReplyDelete________________________________
We do...and since we live on a farm with lots of machine shops and buildings there is a place too store it. I've seen lots of rv storage places...not sure if it would be cost effective though.
ReplyDelete________________________________
Its an amazing blessing! I can't wait to see where are adventures lead us
ReplyDelete________________________________
Thanks! I am not sure who designs all these prints...but they are terribly ugly!
ReplyDelete________________________________
Amazing isn't it!
ReplyDeleteAn rv trip around alaska...that sounds awesome!

I think that your RV is bigger than our apartment!! Seriously! I looks so cozy in there and just screams, "we have fun in this house"
ReplyDeleteHee-hee! We do have fun in here...and I am sure our campground neighbors can hear some if it. :)
ReplyDelete________________________________
wow, that is so cool! :D still super excited for you & the plans you have for the rest of the summer. :)
ReplyDeleteLuv it, luv it, luv it girl! What an experience you're providing for your family. There are many of us out there who would love a jump at something like this...and no mortgage payments. ;) God bless always.
ReplyDeleteWe aren't on the road again yet. But we'll be moving into our camper for a few months before we leave again in December. We're in WA now, headed to AZ. It would be great to see you again!
ReplyDeleteWow, it looks great and so homey! Definitely more roomy than I would have expected. What memories you all are making. So great! xo
ReplyDeleteAwesome! We will for SURE be spending time in arizona this winter!
