You tell yourself it is going to be simple.
You don't worry about matching clothes...
You fully accept that your youngest son is wearing a vintage GI Joe shirt...
And that their colors clash.
You don't worry about matching clothes...
You fully accept that your youngest son is wearing a vintage GI Joe shirt...
And that their colors clash.
You tell everyone it's going to be quick!
Just look at mom for 1 minute!
And most of them do... for 1 second.
You did fail to realize that you were asking them to look at you AND into the sun.
But that's okay!
Because Mom just wanted a picture of her 6 awesome children!
with silly faces
dirty hands
wild hair
and all!
After all... staged photographs are over rated!
Capturing real life is what savors the real emotions!
lovely photos :) the last one is the best :D :D :D
ReplyDeleteWonderful photos! I love the one with the girls eating grass and athe boys looking every which way...simply priceless!! The building behind them makes as really neat backdrop.
ReplyDeleteabsolutely :)
ReplyDeletevery cute.
u should try sitting them in some shade next time. If its light enough outside the shade works great! most of my shoots I put people in shade :)
Too cute! And you're right, staged pics are seriously over rated!!
ReplyDeleteLove it Brittany! I was thinking of you the other night as we sat down for dinner. I love having 3 kiddos at the table and I can emagine how amazing it must be with 6 :) But I really do need to see your dinning room table and how you guys eat at night. Have you ever posted about that?
ReplyDeleteOh how cute! Perfect family that you have! Great background also!
ReplyDeletelove it! i love looking at pictures of your family, hope to hear more about your homeschool efforts and also tried your chick pea curry, it was fabulous!
ReplyDeleteLove it!!!! "It is what it is." Adorable pics..LOVE the background too!
ReplyDeleteToo cute.
ReplyDeleteMckMama has nothing on you with MANY small children. LOL
Between you and her.... I will stick with my many small children of 2. HA!
I am one of 8 kids, so I know how challenging this is, my poor mother :)
ReplyDeleteNow that we are grown, it's fun to look back at our group photos (not that there are a ton of them), because someone was always doing something goofy, and our clothes NEVER matched.
These are the pictures you will cherish one day, so keep snapping them when you can.
that's exactly right! and i should remember that when i try to get a picture of all 7 of my nieces & nephews (including my boy) for my mom's birthday, right??
ReplyDeleteI can so relate. I've given up on staged photos...it's hard enough just to get all 7 in the same shot! :)
ReplyDeleteI love the simplicity and candidness of them. So cute!
ReplyDeleteLovely! Six is such a magical number. I hope these are all being printed and framed.
ReplyDeleteSo cute. Love the little grass eaters ")
ReplyDeleteThis is an awesome group of pictures! You have great looking kids!
ReplyDeleteLove it and couldnt agree more! I love all the pictures :)
ReplyDeleteLove it!
ReplyDeleteYou have such a beautiful family :)
Thanks for sharing
Hugs

Those pictures were way better than staged photos.
ReplyDeleteFamily, especially kid pictures, are ALWAYS so much fun! The kiddos are absolutly handsome and ADORABLE :)

I agree! If you wait for just the right moment, it will NEVER happen, LOL!
ReplyDeleteSo true - staged photos are over-rated! Hahahaha
ReplyDeleteCute pictures.
I'm so with you on that one. We have four boys and one girl..soon to be two. You're lucky enough to get them to all at looking at the camera at once much less the clothes matching and smiles on their face. :)
ReplyDeleteI fully agree! I think it's great to see their personalities shine through! I can hardly manage taking pictures with just my 2, kudos to you for even getting all 6 in the pic!
ReplyDeleteI think then that you might get a chuckle out of this:

at least I can get the older four to cooperate:

mostly......
very cute! I can relate with trying to capture them all smiling and standing still. I only have 5 and it's quite the challenge. Keeping it real though is a great thing!
ReplyDeleteAll beautiful:))
ReplyDeleteI hear you! Six kids, posed?, maybe in their sleep!
ReplyDeleteJust the way they should be!! Great photos as always.
ReplyDeleteWe tried to take my daughter and my 2 nephews for pics last week and none of them turned out!
ReplyDeletelove the back drop.
ReplyDeleteSo overrated!!!!! :) I just adore your attitude!
ReplyDeleteI totally agree with your comment on overrated staged photos. I only have 3 kids, but I much prefer the candid shots of them. Those are the ones that I have framed and scattered throughout my house. I'm also totally with you on the vitamins and minerals from eating grass. I once let my youngest eat ice off the driveway. I figured he was happy...I was happy... :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for joining up to follow my blog.

Question.
ReplyDeleteYou use to have music on your site and I really enjoyed it....great taste in tunes. Wondering what music you have your kids listen to and what their favs are. Mine are huge fans of GO FISH and jazz music.
I think you should do a post on music.
That last line says it all. These are wonderful! : )
ReplyDeleteI was just thinking about how I was going to take my kids' photos this year (I only have 4). I guess I just need to keep it simple.
ReplyDeleteI think u need to send it at&t for there ads with the bars since the kids range short to tall like there comericals.
ReplyDeletetotally the way to look at it!
ReplyDeleteGreat pics- looks like when the girls can stand you'll have the "stairstep" look. I was the oldest of 5, and we started a tradition of Christmas stairstep photos, then as we got older and taller, we'd do one photo in order of height and one in order of age each year.
ReplyDeleteoh my! these are so great! I love the second to last one where they are all looking here there and everywhere!
ReplyDeleteBrittany, I love them!!! Thumbs up to the overated part.
ReplyDeleteThat was a great post, yes I have many pictures where one child is always "off" so to speak. That was so cute the way you described each photo and not too much writing....that is what I like since i try to read so many posts.
ReplyDeleteprecious photos!
ReplyDeleteHeeheee! Your first "mistake" was thinking it would be simple! 6 kids all looking at the camera at once? Dream on!
ReplyDeleteSeriously though, I love the candid shots! They make me smile! Your kids are absolutely adorable!
Do you have photoshop?
ReplyDeleteI don't...but the lady that took our family pics does and said that she can switch heads...lol...and did to make some of our group shots work! crazy!!
These pictures of your kids are so cute!
ReplyDeleteGrayson in the 2nd to the last! : )
I've had that reaction before.
"Mom, it's toooooo bright, are we done now?!"
Good for them for staying in place for you though!
they are precious, no matter what!
ReplyDeleteHey!
ReplyDeleteI love that vintage GI Joe shirt! Better not let Cole see these pics he will want it back. Way too small.
Perfect!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE it! Real life, un-posed is the best! :) Your kiddos are beautiful!
ReplyDeleteThe last one is so cute! Great pics of the kids!
ReplyDeleteI love your family! You are so blessed!
