To my Wife's "Alter-Ego" bloggers out there...
I think there may be better targets for your hatred somewhere else. It doesn't belong here. You might get some ideas from this little collection of images I threw together for you, if you need more just search for "ego" on google images. You'll find many sellout's worthy of your critisism.
Other than that, I wish you all the best in your life pursuits.
Ignore the haters... they will taunt and bait as long as you let them.
ReplyDeleteYou guys are a blessing, and thousands of people know it. It seems like a lot of the Christian bloggers are getting alot of ugly comments lately. Makes you wonder if its the same people just blog-jumping.
Ignore it. Expend your emotional energy on people who love you, like us.

I couldn't agree more with Brent. Ignore them completely. Acknowledging them only makes them worse. Just learn to hit DELETE!!! It will make life much easier. There are many people out there who love your whole family. That is who really matters!
ReplyDeleteThe Bible says there will always be those who hate us...never waver from your path, even when people are throwing stones in your way. God will deal with them in His way-and in His time. We just have to know that we are doing what He leads us to do. I enjoy your blog, Brittany. I think you bless so many people and that is driving Satan to send the nay-sayers your way. Don't let them get to you! Keep up God's work, and He will continue to bless you and your beautiful family! And BTW, Paul, I think it's very chivalrous of you to stand up for your wife! :)God Bless you all.
ReplyDeleteJen
And on the eighth day, God created the "delete" key. Guess I'm with the previous commenters. Your family is too precious to worry about the people who have nothing better to do than criticize. They have some plank-pulling to do.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Brent as well! You guys are awesome. I love your site--such an encouragment to me. In fact, 'haters' really just mean the Lord is using YOU! Satan always attacks those who are following the Lord--persecution is a good sign you are doing something important for the Lord. Also, I think many blog hop and just try to cause problems. They just throw insults out in an effort to hurt you and others. At the first hint of bad in a comment, just delete 'em and move on. :-)

ReplyDeleteOh, I forgot to ask. Can you just block anonymous comments? I am pretty new to blogging but I thought there was a way to do that. Most seem to anonymous folks cruisin through just to cause trouble...
ReplyDeleteI love this blog! Delete, delete, delete...:) kee up the great post!
ReplyDeleteThis sort of reminds me of the mean girl post I just read.... too bad you can't shout out their names....why you ask? Oh that's right, because they are cowards hiding behind those real tuff, that real BIG cool and even fancy word.....um how do you even say it - ANNOYING-ALL-OF-US (anonymous) That how it should be said and pronounced. Which should be changed and replaced with CHICKEN, COWARD, A QUACK. Actually each blogger should be able to come up with their own entertaining name to replace 'anonymous' with before posting their comments. That would be pretty funny.
ReplyDeleteBut then again, why even give them that much time out of your day......yea, I like the DELETE word/button better.
DELETE! Thats what I hit the moment I hear an ANNOYING-ME 'anonymous' sales voice on my answering machine. Oh and boy does that feel good sometimes.
Well, unfortunatly I am one of those anonymous people cuz I don't know how to get the other stuff used. I love to see you family adn the girls are SOOOOOOOOadorable. We have FIVE sets of twins in our church! Keep on standing for the Lord! You will be blessed!
ReplyDeleteI really think that the anon comments are from people or really just one person that is very jealous of you! Who wouldnt be!
ReplyDeleteBrush it off. you have a beautiful family!
Thank you all for your support and advice. Remember, all things work together for his glory.
ReplyDeleteWhile the delete key or exclusive access has it's place, we would rather see un-believers (nay sayers, haters, whatever) say what they need to, it can only serve to make us all better. And any communication is better than no communication at all.
More than anything, I posted this to make it clear that we have his love and guidance walking before us and will not fear ridicule.
I felt that this 'mirror' of acknowledgment was a necessary tool for those curious enough to look and read, but not strong enough to believe. We must all be broken in some way to come to his mercy.
Dear sweet funcky blogging friend...I'm praying for peace and wisdom for you and your family.
ReplyDeletePaul I could just hug you for supporting your wife so publicly.
You go mama of 6...
As much as I agree that it's so ridiculous that people criticize your life and what you believe in I'm not so sure that it's okay to say the people in that slide show are worthy of criticism either. You are just doing EXACTLY what people do to you. You don't know these people in real life. You just create an opinion about them from what you see from afar. Just like people do about you guys. I mean I think I saw Angelina Jolie in there. Do you have any idea how many childrens lives that she has saved with her relief work? You have no right to call her or any of those other people sell outs because then you have no right to be offended when people say bad things about you. Just a thought.
ReplyDeleteWhat is up with people hating! What happened to if you have nothing nice to say . . Keep your mouth shut!! I don't understand! If they dont like or dont agree with you . . then dont come to your blog!
ReplyDeleteYou have many fans . . You have many people that care about you and your kids that don't even truly know you! You have people that enjoy your blog!
I hope you know that there is always someone that wont agree, there is always someone that just can't keep there mouth shut! Just brush it off because its not worth your time to worry about that small % of people!
Smile, its a new day :)
I would have a hard time ignoring people sending me hate mail. But, it's true - if you stand up for what you believe in it will continue to come. This month I'm helping our 11 year old son memorize the betatudes.... Matthew 5:11,12 says "Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake. Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you."
ReplyDeleteRegardless of how to handle the negative comments...I think it is wonderful to see a husband defend his wife and family!!!!

ReplyDeleteWhat a sweet hubby
ReplyDeleteYeah for husbands who stand up for their wives!
ReplyDeleteGrrrr!!! People like that make me so mad.
ReplyDeleteYes, I have an amazingly wonderful husband. I am so blessed!
ReplyDeleteAnd as for the images... I do not believe that he specifically picked people to judge. He simply searched google images for "alter ego". I completely see what you are saying and trust me we are far enough removed from knowing anything about celebrities or media to judge any of them. Not to mention it's not our 'job' :)
Brittany
keep the good stuff coming and pic s of those adorable children! I am new to your site but really love checking it out! I have 3 precious boys and have to say love seeing pics of your girls!!!! Ha Bless you ALL!
ReplyDeleteWow, it's sad that you even need to do this post. Ignore the mean people....who needs them?
ReplyDeleteThe rest of us love you and your family.
Wow, I didn't know that you actually get HATEFUL things as comments. People can be so rude. Just keep ignoring them. BTW - I am new to your blog. I LOOOOOOVE YOUR HAIR! Your kids are adorable. I have twins as well, they turned 5 yesterday! Keep posting pics. And yes, HOORAY for men that stand up for their wives.. GO HUBBY!
ReplyDeleteAwww...sorry to read this is happening. Ignore them; and stay focused on the cheese post, Brit! :) I'm still waiting to read about the latest food I need to delete from my staples. Edamame is gone. Please be kind...we love cheese. :D
ReplyDeleteI have to admit that I find it awfully contradictory of you to be posting pictures of other people and attaching the word "ego" to them. I'm assuming you were offended when ONE person did it to you ... so why have YOU done it and then posted it publicly for hundreds of people to see.
ReplyDeleteYikes.
Incidentally, if you don't want people to state their opinions (like the alter-ego person did), just learn to moderate your comments. Otherwise, roll with the punches. It's your choice.
ReplyDeleteAlso, for what it's worth, I think the alter-ego person was right.
I think people who are mean are just jealous. Ignoe them. I think your blog is wonderful and you have one of the most beautiful families that I know.
ReplyDeleteHigh-five, Paul!
ReplyDeleteOh my! This post and all the comments are so immature...and I can't stop checking in because it is like train wreck tv.
ReplyDeleteWhat will happen next?
This latest move, hiding behind the guise of religion with the whole good versus evil thing regarding the food fanatacism is priceless. Way to spin it guys! I'm still scratching my head at how on earth the two are related but you sure know how to strike a cord with the bulk of your readers.
Hmmm...so anything controversial or that people don't agree with, just claim you are being persecuted, bible style! Awesome!
Tune in next week, ya'll!!
Brittany, God intended for each of us to be unique and different. While you may do things a little differently in your house than others it be no means makes it wrong! More power to you for helping educate others on the things that are important to you. Just let those comments roll off your back. You obviousally have a wonderful supportive husband and a houseful of cuties. Don't let these hatred filled people take away from your happiness. God has blessed you in so many ways.
ReplyDeleteYou know I'm a fan Brittany, wouldn't be here if I wasn't. Well, wait, given recent comment drama that doesn't really follow does it? =(
ReplyDeleteAnyway, I haven't really gotten in on all this mess recently, but I just thought it would be worth pointing out that your supporters seem to FAR outweigh any negative nellies.
Hang in there and let all the positive vibes settle into your heart. Bless your hubby too!!! =)
People can be so ridiculous..so sorry you've had 'bullies'. You know I love your blog...the pictures, the recipes...ect. In fact, I'll be trying your chickpea curry recipe tonight- it sounds SO good! ;-)
ReplyDeleteIt stinks that people can be so rude, I would almost say it would be better to just not acknowledge the rude comments. Just delete them and go on with you way...I feel like acknowledging them is sort of like feeding the fire. They are wanting people to hear what they have to say and wanting you to respond so that they can just catch you in a bad moment and prove themselves right. I would just ignore it!
ReplyDeleteI love your guy's blog and think you are great!
Bring back your former style of blogging! I didn't always agree with you but it was OK because we are all different. You had such a fun blog to read. As of late, it has really changed and it's kind..(dare I say...dare I say...OK I'll risk it...) creepy (?)..for lack of a better word.
ReplyDeleteI don't know what this is all about because I dont have time to read comments.
ReplyDeleteBut I do love your blog and think that you have cute cute babies.
Ignore senseless mean people.
Y confuse God and Jesus with Religion?
ReplyDeleteY confuse the 'saving' of a handful of children with the devastation of Hollywood economics?
Y confuse opinions with assumptions?
Forget everything else, if you're here looking through the glass you must have some good taste.
Keep racking that brain, and at some point all this will become less of a contradiction to your brainwashing and more of a possible reality.
Someone must really have a heart full of anger and pain when they resort to attacking strangers on the internet. I'm so sorry that your family has been the target of all this unfounded criticism. Remember that it must be coming from someone who is terribly unhappy for some reason. Trying to recognize that pain is motivating the attacks helps us as Christians to have compassion for those who persecute us. I'm praying for you, that Christ will be glorified in how you respond to insult, and for "anonymous" that God would work in their life.
ReplyDeleteKudos to your hubby! All you can do really is PRAY for the person that unloads all that drama on your blog! I love your blog! :) When I first began yours was the first that I read. I was working 12 hour days and extremely tired but I spent hours reading your blog!!
ReplyDeleteMaybe you should block anonymous blockers from commenting. I guess that would make them show their name...or they would give up! However, that is not fair to the other "kind" A-commenters.
Just hold your head up!! Your family is beautiful!!
my goodness. i think it would freak me out that so many people are complete nutsos out there. specially when you have such an awesome family.. just know what Jesus calls you to do in this whole thing and fight the fight!~
ReplyDeleteThere is an internet expression: DON'T FEED THE TROLLS. That means, don't respond to people who are deliberately and intentionally making comments that will get a rise out of you. Many of them will get a real thrill out of seeing a response!
ReplyDeleteThat said, there are also people who will disagree with you from time to time. If you really don't like that, you can delete - but I do think a bit of discussion can be interesting and you never know when someone else's point of view might even change your mind when you hear their side.
You're presenting some controversial opinions on here and with that is going to come disagreement, and you might need to deal with that. If it's just trolls and flamers, then delete and ignore.
Marie.
love the fact that your hubby hijacked your blog to make a point. I hope things get better in bloggy world for you. Have a great weekend.
ReplyDeleteOkay, so I get the whole "feeling attacked" and how some people can really be disrespectful when commenting. However, one of the great things about a blog is to give people the opportunity to see things from a different perspective, and maybe even get into a friendly and respectful debate (although, that is certainly not a guarantee!!). The potential for seeing things differently, understanding someone elses perspective, and engaging in healthy conversation is amazing in this forum.
ReplyDeleteI think the post that everyone seems to be focused on was initially posted without the first paragraph(s) and that caused some hightened emotions that were not expressed very appropriately. Even with all of the supportive, kind, and encouraging comments the last few days, I am surprised at this particular post. However, some of the continued disrespectful ones may have been deleted.
I also understand that you did not get into this to be treated in a very childish, inappropriate manner. However, sometimes when we put ourselves out there, this is just part of it. And, by no means does that make it okay, not at all. However, with all of the wonderful and amazing comments about you and your family, I think I would almost be including a thank you. You are blessed with some really fabulous readers!! I know you are fully aware of this, just don't allow the yucky ones to control you, have power over your decisions and feelings or dictate you post(s) because it is easy to fall into that trap.
Rise above sister!!

I think this calls for some prayer...for all those involved.
