They're just eggs... but my hubby seems to have the magical touch. He'd laugh if he read this... I tell him he's too good to me for making me eggs {almost every morning} and he just balks.
that doesn't change the fact that he DOES make the most wonderful fresh basil eggs!

I LOVE my egg man!
Does your hubby cook? What's his 'daddy specialty'?

I'm so blessed too that my hubby has no problem cooking for our family. Actually last night when I got home he was making a cheesy chicken and salsa recipe.
ReplyDeleteBut as for the eggs, that's what he does for us every Saturday :)

my hubby is the egg man here too, he makes the best ones!!
ReplyDeleteHi there! My man is a real good cook, too! He makes me this really yummy chicken recipe (that I LOVE, but hate to make myself). I guess I take it for granted sometimes 'cause it sure is nice to have our men do that for us, huh?! :))
ReplyDeleteP.S. I'm a follower, too! I stop by pretty much daily! :)
RIBS!!!! Mmmmmmmmmmm.......they literally fall off the bone before you even take a bite!! He too can make some stellar eggs!! But his ribs are the #1 best!!!
ReplyDeleteI too am blessed with a cooking husband...his specialty? Pancakes. He adds his own ingredients to the mix and the kids swear they're magical. That was a tough act to follow while he was in Iraq!! LOL
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately, my dear husband doesn't cook. Oh well, I'll keep him anyway. ;) Those eggs look yummy!
ReplyDeleteI thank my mother-in-law for teaching my son to cook. The irony of it all is that my husband's sister hates to cook. But not my man. He can cook anything, and cook it well.
ReplyDeleteoooooo those eggs look good! My husband is learning to be a great cook! On my late nights at work he takes care of everything, sometimes steak, sometimes pasta, and then sometimes it's papa johns:-)
ReplyDeleteMy hubby is the grill king. I haven't the slightest clue how to use the darn thing.
ReplyDeleteMy husband also does eggs....and that is just about all he cooks. The egg sandwiches that he makes are AMAZING so I guess it's okay that eggs are the only thing he cooks!
ReplyDeleteMy hubby cooks everything!
ReplyDeleteHusband doesn't cook a lot, he grills/smokes a lot! Every weekend he is using the smoker, or grill to cook up something for us. He'll put anything on there, from veggies and potatos, to steaks and chickens!
ReplyDeleteI am the main cook here, but my hubby can pick up the slack! He makes the best Hot Chocolate!! And I like that he tries his own thing...oh, I forgot he also makes the bomb diggity choc. chip cookies!! I love him so much, I haven't been feeling well and he totally made himself more aweseom last night when he cleaned up for me!!
ReplyDeleteMy husbands specialty is chinese take out- I love it when he "cooks" :)
ReplyDeleteMy dh is the egg and pizza man. He makes an Israeli egg dish called shakshuka. It has onions, red peppers, tomatoes, spices, and fresh herbs. The eggs are cracked onto the bed of veggies and poached. It's so good (especially with a dollop of sour cream)! We can't buy pizza outside of our home (due to keeping kosher), so we make our own. The kids all love to watch dh throw the dough up in the air. Thinking of these is making me hungry!
ReplyDeleteWell, I'm not married, but I'll talk about my dad. :) He cooks when necessary, and can do anything we give him good instructions for, but the grill is completely his domain. He makes great hamburgers, hot dogs, sausage, chicken, etc. Daddy used to do breakfast every Saturday morning (until we kids got old enough to do it ourselves...sad day!), and it was always either pancakes or plucking cake. Mmmm, mmmm, good! :D
ReplyDeleteI am thankful to God that I have a husband that do laundry for me on the weekends and occasionally cooks breakfast for me! Yes he's not a good cook! even then I love the way he puts his efforts to impress me and our daughter Emma!
ReplyDeleteAndy claims he can't cook anything... but at one point in time, right after high school, he wanted to be a chef.... hmmmmm....
ReplyDeleteHe makes a mean pancake! :) The kids will only eat his pancakes!
PapaBear does 80% of the cooking around here. I do about 10% (I'm talking about making dinners.)
ReplyDeleteThe other 10% we do together. It's great to be in the kitchen sharing the work, talking about our days, and just being together. Our favorite thing to make together is chili, but recently we made a homemade chicken pot pie that was really really good.
HIS specialty is chicken kabobs on the grill. (I'm with the other ladies - the grill is his domain.)
What a great hubby you have Brittany!
This was a fun post to read too.
I'm guilty...my husband does way more cooking in our house! And of course I always think his food is better then mine. =)
ReplyDeleteI am blessed w/ a chef for a husband- I am not a good cook at all. He makes tandoori chicken that is to DIE for.
ReplyDeletenicole
My hubs is just good at breakfast, period. He makes a pretty awesome spread when he puts his mind to it. And he's good at grilling too!
ReplyDeleteThose eggs look good...
my hubby makes an excellent egg and cheese sandwich! Anything breakfast he is great at!!
ReplyDeleteMy hubby is the grill master at our house. Anthing that goes on the grill he can make delicious. It is great that he can cook for us when i just dont feel like it. He can make really good baked spaghetti also.
ReplyDeleteWow. Those eggs look fantastic!
ReplyDeleteMy hubby is a great cook! He has taught me a thing or two since we've been married. Now he pretty much sticks to the grill and I do everything else.
Although his eggs are pretty good too. :)
My hubby makes amazing cinnamon rolls. He also likes to grab all the leftovers out of the fridge and fry up a goulash using everything - it's different every time. Lately his favorite is turkey, salsa, cheese and sour cream. It smells amazing.
ReplyDeleterobin
grill baby grill!
ReplyDeleteWhat is it about guys knowing how to do breakfast just right? My husband makes this breakfast golash that is to die for. Not very healthy, but good. It's fried potatoes with eggs scrambled into it and cut up cooked sausage patties tossed in and then cheese melted on top...then you put ketcup on it. YUMMY!
ReplyDeleteMy husband is an egg man too! His don't look quite as pretty, but they are tasty...usually he makes omelets with cheese and fresh salsa for me---but not every morning...just when he feels like it!
ReplyDeletethose look yummy! My husband is the breakfast guy in our house. And he loves to bake. If he knew I posted that on the internet he'd kill me!
ReplyDeleteMen and eggs, must go hand in hand. My husband too is a great egg man. He makes me the best over easy eggs, and he can make a smashing omlette or breakfast burrito as well.
ReplyDeleteMine loves to cook also. He's probably better than I am with trying new recipes!
ReplyDeleteThose eggs look wonderful!
No, and it for the best:)
ReplyDeleteFor the most part my hubby is the baker in the family. He will cook from time to time though. He makes the BEST grilled cheese sandwich hands down. I never thought that would be something that would be so good but there are times when I crave it!
ReplyDeleteMy man is a wonderful!!! cook. His specialty is salmon and penne pasta with pesto sauce. It's the meal he made me for our second date. And it's the meal that capture my stomach then my heart.
ReplyDelete...and who said that "the way to a man's heart is through his stomach?" I think it applies to women more.
:)

Frozen pizza!! Hahaha..
ReplyDeletemy husband is great in the kitchen...except for the clean-up part ;). Anyway, last night he made some awesome chili for dinner. YUM! He also makes some great homemade spaghetti sauce! Recently I found out I have Celiac Sprue, so I can't have gluten...and he has been an AMAZING help, going out of his way to find gluten free things for me :).
ReplyDeleteYahoo for cooking hubbies ;). (I'd still love him if he was clueless in the kitchen, though ;) ).
Breakfast is my hubby's specialty too. He makes wonderful eggs, but we are usually begging for his yummy banana chocolate chip pancakes!
ReplyDeleteBy the way--that sounds totally gross, I know...but they are amazingly wonderful!
He doesn't go beyond breakfast though... but hey, I'm NOT complaining! I will take food cooked for me whenever I can get it! :-)
Mmm, those eggs do look grand! What a great man you have :)
ReplyDeleteMy hubby also loves to cook and he does it quite a bit. He has a lot of specialties, like BLT's made with maple bacon (yum! He made those last night.)
He also makes homemade lasagna, chili, pizza, pesolé....etc etc
I love my man who cooks :) And i'm sure he loves that I clean it up.
Hope you and your family are doing well! I hope you are feeling better and I'm so happy your little girls are growing so healthily!
God Bless,
Hilary
Yes my hubby cooks and he is really good at it. He makes really good french toast. He rocks the grill and he makes a mean beef strognoff!
ReplyDeleteHello! My hubby is a firefighter, so he comes home with TONS of firehouse recipes which are always awesome!
ReplyDeleteHello! My hubby is a firefighter, so he comes home with TONS of firehouse recipes which are always awesome!
ReplyDeleteMy DH is the omlette man here and rissoles {not sure what you'd call those} and of course the great Australian BBQ guy...!!!!!
ReplyDeleteI am trying to broaden his horizons in the kitchen and he is willing....just for these next few months ahead while I cannot fathom cooking! hehe
:):)
My love does the dishes, and I do most of the cooking; but he, too, makes the most delightful "egg mashes" as he calls them. He also likes to grill, and also brined the most FABULOUS petite turkey for us last week. I love him so much!!
ReplyDeleteon sundays, my husband makes what our son calls "dad's famous eggs". it's basically an egg scramble with potatoes, onions and peas, with some indian spices. it has a nice kick and we all look forward to having it with either toast or roti's every weekend.
ReplyDeleteeven our one year old enjoys it, with the little kick and all......she's half indian so what do you expect? lol.
he makes a few indian dishes, traditional like chicken curry or just things he makes up as he goes, most recently he made a delicious shrimp curry with thai curry paste and coconut milk, it was delicious!
